I agree with you about the PTSD and needing help but there are factors many don't realize. 1)There's still a heavy stigma with both being a survivor, and needing help with mental health. 2) Culture plays a big part. The culture is not favorable regarding therapy, mental health issues, medications etc. It's taboo and something you just need to deal with and get over. I agree with you that it's the worst way to look at it because it solves nothing. It's really heartbreaking. It's understandable why he doesn't trust, doesn't want intimate contact, and while having someone supportive and great standing with you is vital, it won't fix it.
