"Becky..."
"Don't 'Becky' me!"
Dawn held the phone away from her ear as her cousin, Becky Carter quite literally gave her an ear full.
"Did you forget what happened last year!?" Becky squawked incredulously.
"How could I forget that?" replied Dawn, her own temper rising at the mention of that incident.
"Well then I should be there with you!"
"That would defeat the purpose of me getting away," sighed Dawn.
"What if he shows up!?" cried Becky.
Dawn didn't reply immediately.
"...He's not going to show up," replied Dawn.
"You don't know that," argued Becky.
"I'm in the middle of nowhere, Cousin. He's not going to find me," sighed Dawn.
"Where are you?" asked Becky.
Dawn looked around the room, at the flannel blanket covering the bed she sat on.
"...I... honestly, I don't even know. It's one of the cabins my parents owned. One of our Winter getaways," answered Dawn.
"I can't even pay off my Macy's card, and you don't even know which one of your Winter Cabins you are in," groaned Becky. "What is this, like the sixth one?" she jabbed.
"Sounds about right," Dawn replied lazily.
"Well I don't like it!" scolded Becky, making clear her dissatisfaction that her favorite and frequently imperiled cousin was all alone in the middle of nowhere.
"Relax, Beck. It's only a few days. I've got the Gala tonight, in this quaint little town at the base of the Mountain. Don't worry about me. I'll be back to the City before you know it," assured Dawn.
