BANG! BANG! BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!
Thump.
Ada's heart hammered beneath her rib cage that was sheathed so snugly in her claustrophobically fitting red cocktail dress. One of those... things... the same as from the mansion dropped to the floor in a heap of fetid meat.
Ada's stomach churned from the sight, the sound... the smell. How can they still? Her mind recoiled with horror. But she was not afforded the luxury of philosophy. More of those creatures came shambling out of the darkness. In her scattershot panic she had not paid attention to her flanks, foolishly allowing the rotting rag-dolls to swarm her.
Ada tried to aim her trusty Matilda, tried to level it for a deadly shot, but she had allowed them to get in too close. Their decaying bony hands reached in toward her cringing lithe body. She couldn't get the business end of her gun pointed at their decaying heads.
"Hey! Stay away---from me!!!" she shouted into their gaping faces. The milky sightless eyes showed no sign of understanding or sympathizing with the young woman's plight. Their slack moaning jaws driving their beyond the grave desires.
