The Perils of Pantyhose in the Jungle (3 of 7)

You eventually come to a stop to catch your breath, leaning against a tree as you put your hand to your forehead and close your eyes for a second. You both look so out of place in your exotic setting, everything here is rugged and tested by the laws of nature, while you two are so delicate and beautiful, your feminine presence seeming completely alien in your environment. With your eyes closed you don’t see the figure slithering down from the tree, it’s tail rustles the leaves as it comes down the trunk and you only open your eyes when it’s head is almost on your shoulder. Your eyes snap open just as you see it’s forked tongue flicker out and you emit a high pitched shrill scream, hurrying away from the snake as you run over and clutch your mom. It slithers down to the floor and begins approaching you, your mom showing just as much fear as you as she shrieks too, the two of you taking off further into the jungle.

Jungle perils are some of my all time favorite from the classic pulp era. Additionally I blame Sierra games Leisure Suit Larry 3, specifically Passionate Patti, for inspiration in this sequence. Last year, I commissioned a story from Markus Jones exploring jungle themes I enjoyed, featuring Emily Lockwood and her mother, Lynda. The story was an extension or "what if" path from the CYOA Deadly Horizons (in the Tanzania location), which was the (unexpected) surprise return of Emily Lockwood after a three year hiatus. The following renders were created by me inspired by the extended story they wrote for me. I hope you enjoy the excerpt text and the images!
