With the space race of hemlines in the 1960's so evolved a need for a garment to keep up with a girl's rising skirts. Thank goodness pantyhose came to the rescue! Girls the world over rushed to department stores to stock up on the evolution of stockings. It was a match made in heaven. Just as long as they could manage to keep those control tops hidden above the hemline. Blushing cheeks, oh the scandal!
