One Piece - I Am A Different Luffy! - Chapter 555 - They're Going After the One Piece!

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV

ALL over the world.

...

...

The next day, an updated newspaper about Luffy was released with the shocking news:
"The Dawn Pirates will set sail in search of the One Piece!"
The headline immediately spread across the entire world.

After all, not even when he left for Wano to go to Egghead had such news been published. But, since Morgans is now in his territory, he discovered rather interesting information he didn’t have before. So he decided to publish it.

After the battle that took place on the Red Line, removing the island from the reach of the World Government and taking Vegapunk into the pirates' territory, it was also the moment when Luffy finally decided to move forward with his crew directly toward the One Piece.

The article highlighted that the next days, weeks, months, or even years could define the fate of the world, according to the information Vegapunk shared with everyone.
The secret lies on the final island and will determine what will happen to the future of the world.

Certainly, this is not easy information to swallow. But the fate of the world was about to change.
And if the Dawn Pirates succeed, the world will once again have a Pirate King.

The question the newspaper posed was: is the world ready for this?
Will the other Yonko allow it?
Now that Monkey D. Luffy has truly set out to find the most coveted treasure in the world, will they really let this happen?

Will the World Government try to stop them?
The Navy is more weakened than ever at this moment — will they be able to do anything?

There is an admiral captured by Luffy’s hands, along with several vice admirals after Egghead, and no negotiation has yet been officially confirmed.

Fujitora left his position as admiral and joined the organization known as Sword, acting at sea as a group of vigilantes — where the Government and Navy today view them as criminals, since they’re no longer under their control.

Admiral Green Bull was severely injured by Monkey D. Luffy in their battle at Dressrosa.

Akainu lost his arm to Monkey D. Luffy at Marineford.

While Sengoku is a retired man, Garp, along with one of the other prominent members of the navy, are no longer part of the organization and are acting as part of Sword.

This leads to the conclusion that the Navy is weaker than ever.
Only one active admiral holds the position of fleet admiral, which we can conclude is weaker than Monkey D. Luffy.

If the battle really is between the two, is there any doubt that the Dawn Pirates won’t prove themselves superior to the Navy?

This is very hard news for the Navy to swallow, as they are openly criticized.

"Will Shanks, Blackbeard, and Buggy be able to stop Monkey D. Luffy? He is the most powerful pirate in the world, and surely the encounter between them will happen soon and shake the entire world."

"Will they form an alliance against Monkey D. Luffy?" the reporter asked the world.

What happens now will be monumental.
And no matter the outcome of what’s to come — the entire world will now be watching the New World more than ever before.

We’ve reached the pinnacle.
Although the era changed the moment the war at Marineford ended, we can still assume that this is the peak of the Pirate Era.

Whoever emerges victorious from this will go down in history.
And everyone alive in this era will witness the feat.

"The question is: will the World Government and the figures who have remained hidden for decades return to stop this?"

"More information will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned to Morgans News, the newspaper that will be personally covering the Dawn Pirates on this journey."

With that, the report ended.

Those voices were spreading rapidly, delivering that very edition as people opened the newspaper and swallowed hard.
As soon as they saw the headline, the report left no one less than stunned.

The cover photo showed the Black Pearl sailing with an immense number of more than thirty people occupying the deck, all part of a single crew.

Thirty people, among them, many worth several hundreds of millions and a much greater number than usual worth billions.
All in a single crew.

A crew with eight Conqueror’s Haki users.
A crew with more than a dozen mythical beast fruit users.
More than three logia fruit users.

Various paramecia-type fruits with special abilities — even abilities that could destroy the world.

Was there any doubt about what this crew was truly capable of?

Monkey D. Luffy had managed to bring together all kinds of people on the same ship: humans, mermaids, fish-men, minks, skeletons, animals...

In addition, commoners, former slaves, princesses, human experiments, kings... and even Celestial Dragons.

A crew like this had never existed before.
And it is more powerful than any other.

It is the only one in history.

Behind all this, there were still things kept secret.
Hidden weapons. Powers among crew members that could destroy the world.
Hidden weapons like the very Ancient Weapons that some members might be able to control.

It was now that Monkey D. Luffy had finally left his safe territory.
Everyone would be watching him, knowing that he already had information from the red Poneglyphs — at least Kaido’s.

He was a target for everyone in the race for the One Piece now, just as the one holding a poneglyph knew they’d be his target too.

Luffy only needed two.
And he was going after them.

“Grandpa, Grandpa! Look at this!”
A little boy ran to his grandfather with the newspaper in hand, somewhere in the world, as the man gently took the paper and began analyzing it with his eyes, growing surprised.

“Does this mean he...?” he murmured, fully understanding what it meant.
Monkey D. Luffy was going after the One Piece.

Finally.

He couldn’t help but be more surprised by it.
‘To think this would happen so soon, after that shocking message...’ the man commented to himself, remembering the conversation he had with his grandson a long time ago, during the absence of the Straw Hat — a moment before he finally revealed to the world that he was still very much alive.

The boy had developed a fascination over the past two years for Monkey D. Luffy, always reading news about him while talking with his grandfather, who would explain things about the sea.

At that moment, it wasn’t hard to believe that Monkey D. Luffy could attract the dreamy gazes of children to his side, inspiring them to become someone like him — strong, respected, and victorious over all enemies — despite ignoring all the lines the World Government tried to write about how Monkey D. Luffy was a terrible threat to the world.

Just like that boy, many saw him as a figure to become someday.

Strangely enough, to many, Monkey D. Luffy was a hero.
A pirate who went around defeating bad people, who enslaved entire kingdoms or even stood against the oppression of the World Government.
And even though he was a pirate, he wasn’t the bad kind, despite the government’s claims of his thefts and murders.

But there was always the idea that Luffy fought against evil, freed kingdoms, protected them.
And that had been proven many times.

Several kingdoms across the Blues could attest to that.
It was no wonder that, nowadays, the ocean had never prospered so much.
People were wealthier, there was more stability between countries and in resources, and no more pirates creating chaos.
Even the pirates themselves feared angering Monkey D. Luffy by attacking East Blue cities — everyone feared the most powerful pirate in the world.

Obviously, no one from East Blue could go around shouting that it was all thanks to the ocean Luffy had created.
The World Government had been quite oppressive about that, imprisoning anyone who held ideologies in favor of the former Straw Hat's actions.
He was now the World Government’s greatest enemy.
So they were treated as traitors.

Even so, the feeling was mutual.

Not just in the Blues, but also in Paradise.
Alabasta was being oppressed by a Shichibukai and was saved.
Skypiea was ruled by an idiot with a logia.
Luffy turned him into a subordinate and managed to bring peace to the Sky Kingdom.

He began defeating various marines, Shichibukai, and powerful pirates as soon as he entered Paradise.
There, even though no rookie should have been able to wield such power, he was there, showing the world that everyone was wrong.

He kept fighting admirals, one after the other, and defeating them.
He entered the Paramount War at Marineford after invading Impel Down, becoming the first pirate to enter through the prison’s gates, rescue prisoners, and escape.

When he entered Marineford, he did so arrogantly in front of powerful men who surrounded him — even though many mocked him for it.
But the moment he and his crew began unleashing Conqueror’s Haki, revealing that not just one, but seven of them had it, everything exploded for the world to see.
That crew was anything but ordinary — it was a group that had never existed in this world.

Monkey D. Luffy was the one who gathered everyone under his wings.
And even with so many Conqueror’s Haki users, they all obeyed his orders — a king among kings.
Which showed that Monkey D. Luffy was a king above all others.

Not to mention that, when he entered the New World, he assembled his fleet for the first time to face a Yonko and earn a place among the most powerful in the world.
Not among the most — but as the most powerful pirate in the world.

He also showed that even within his fleet, there were several Conqueror’s Haki users.
Never, in any recorded era in the world, had there been so many Conqueror’s Haki users alive at the same time.
Which demonstrated that something big was coming to the world.
And there was no longer any doubt that it would happen — or was just about to happen right now.

"I see you're excited about this pirate again," the old man murmured, lowering the newspaper and looking at the child with a glint in his eyes.

"Of course I am! He's going to find the One Piece! He's going to find the greatest treasure of all! He’s going to be the King of the Pirates!" the boy shouted joyfully.

"Yes, the world is about to change.
And maybe... a war will come."
The man couldn’t help but shudder at Vegapunk’s message, which had also been transmitted by newspapers over the past few days to islands that hadn’t seen the broadcast — like that one, a small, unremarkable island somewhere in the world.

"Will he face the Yonko, the Navy, the World Government... and find the One Piece?" the boy asked, and the man could only sigh.

To many, Monkey D. Luffy is a living legend.
He had rescued kingdoms from the Blues, from Paradise, from the New World...
And perhaps, if a war against the World Government truly begins, there is no doubt that many kingdoms — who have nothing to do with Monkey D. Luffy — will declare support for the pirate against the government.

The World Government can no longer hide the information.
Luffy, even painted as the devil himself — worse than his father, as already declared in the newspapers — is still an inspiration to many.

And perhaps, no matter what happens in the future, there is no doubt that he has already inspired the next generation.

Like that old man’s grandson, as he watched the boy jumping excitedly, dreaming in delight about what was to come — even predicting the battle that lies ahead.
