Positive Reinforcement - Pt 4 - Preview
Added 2025-07-18 13:00:13 +0000 UTCIt's summertime, and with it comes all of the usual activities to the Flagston household. The younger siblings are away at summer camp, week upon week filled with hiking, canoeing, campfire sing-alongs, and what have you...a much-needed break from what would otherwise be three months of them being constantly underfoot, slowly driving their parents to the brink of insanity. Chip, however, is much too old for camp...his days now filled with a good old-fashioned summer job, working part-time as a stocker at a nearby grocery store.
For Hi, however, it's just another day of the year. Get up, get dressed, throw a cup of coffee down his throat, kiss the wife goodbye, and then he's off for yet another day of slaving away at the office. Lois, on the other hand, can do as she pleases once the dutiful wife thing is complete...a wave to her husband as he backs down the driveway, a press of the garage door close button, and the day is hers...well, that is until she gets Chip up and out of bed.
Down the hall and into Chip's room, she's now gotta raise Chip from slumber and on his way to work as well...which, much like any other young man his age, is like trying to raise the dead.
Lois: Chip, sweetie. It's time to get up.
Splayed out across the bed and face down on his pillow, Chip grumbles and groans, his voice muffled and half-asleep.
Chip: Umph. Five more minutes.
