Vacation
Added 2025-07-06 13:00:08 +0000 UTCUpdate:
Disregard the previous message. It took us almost ten hours to get to Savanna, Georgia due to the weather along the east coast yesterday (it's normally a 4-hour drive) only to discover that the rooftop air conditioner (in the 1-year old RV) wasn't working. Yeah, the middle aged Florida fat-body that I am doesn't dig on no a/c. On top of that, there's flooding in Massachusetts and Connecticut (both of which we -were- stopping in) due to the same weather.
Back home now...drove back on 1-hour of sleep. RV is going back to the dealership for warranty repair on Monday.

Yes, I'm actually going on vacation this week...my first since well before the pandemic. I'll be gone this coming Tuesday and back in about a week and half.
So, you're probably thinking something on the order of the wife and I, a sunny southwest Florida beach, and fruity alcoholic beverage in our hands for an entire week. ...which is usually our default vacation anyway.
Yeah...no...not even close.

Try me driving a 25 foot motorhome with the wife, the mother-in-law, and the wife's aunt...the latter two being over the age of 70...doing a 25-hour drive up to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. ...and the slow decent into madness that will inevitably follow. Granted, the furthest I've ever been up into the northeast was to Manhattan, but that was more than 20 years ago.
...and I don't recall liking it very much either.
Oh, by the way, there's also a tropical system trying to form over Florida this weekend...that will probably travel up the eastern seaboard next week. ...and -they- are still hell-bent on going.
As for Patreon, I -should- have all of the usual post days covered until the third week of July, but don't be surprised if you see a lot more sketches and lineart than usual. There won't be any stories and I doubt that I'll have many opportunities to respond to comments.

2025-07-10 21:14:52 +0000 UTCWell good luck to you my friend, and your sanity too. Look at it this way tho, if the tropical storm follows you up the coast, at least you'll have a tail wind, so maybe you'll save some time and fuel. Stay safe my friend.
