On the Creation of the World and Men

In this post, I will demonstrate how the birth of every person is like a microcosmic reenactment of the Demiurge's fall from Heaven and his subsequent act of creation.

In Ovid's Metamorphoses, chaos is described as ''a rough and disordered mass, nothing but an inactive agglomeration and at the same time a heap and a contrast of uncoordinated elements of the world.'' This understanding of the cosmos before creation is shared by most religions - including Christianity to an extent.

I propose the first act of creation was a superior God distilling light from darkness, creating both paradise - a realm of pure light, an ideal world - and the abyss - a realm of pure darkness, a cave of matter. As this God is of pure light, he exists only in Heaven.

Through Gnostic lenses, the creation of our world as described in the Book of Genesis is a distorted, Demiurgic reenactment of the first act of creation. He too made light shine within the darkness, but unlike his supreme predecessor, he did not segregate the two elements, but combined them, creating a world as chaotic as himself, for as is above, so is below.

The Demiurge was born as a result of Sophia's boundless curiosity - at the edge of paradise, she harvested matter and mixed it with light, creating a being perceived as a chimera with a lion's head (which is symbolic of light, of the sun) and a serpent's body (which is symbolic of darkness, of the moon). Thus, this being was chaotic - like the state of all things before the first act of creation (when light was mixed with darkness).

This chaotic being fell from Heaven, as he was too heavy to exist in an ideal realm of pure light. Within the abyss - which is like a profound sea, as water reflects light and holds darkness within -, this being created this world, envisioning to reproduce the paradise he'd lost. He would design it so that the light he possessed could continuously expand, cultivated to nourish and empower him. Thus, he created men in his image; a man is a being who bears light within matter. (I have devised a model for the origin of earthly life that wholly reconciles evolution and other modern scientific theories with this theological notion, which I might talk about in a future post.)

The Earth itself shares this configuration - its core is a mass of energy, and its exterior is of land and water. The nucleus is the soul, the molten layers the blood, and the outer shell the body.

Every man begins as a seed, as a tiny white worm; and that seed grows into a great fruit, which the Demiurge reaps through death, like a king taxing the harvest of his subjects. The Demiurge devised a mechanism for such seeds to be replanted; all living beings have within them the natural urge to reproduce.

Every man's conception mirrors the Demiurge falling from heaven and creating the material world; the sperm - the worm - is like the lion-headed snake who, from the outside (Heaven), swims into a well (the abyss) and penetrates an egg (the Earth).

''The cosmos, of course! Let us sit about, and speak feverishly. Chatting into the wee hours of... New ideas, of the higher plane!'' - Micolash :p

This is it for this post. I hope you've enjoyed the read. Thank you for your continued support! As expressed in a community post on YouTube, I have been facing issues with my PC, which I hope to fix soon. Editing is very difficult under my current circumstances, but the next video should be posted this week still.
