They try to look cool, disguising their anticipation...bobbing their heads as if to say 'what's up?' or giving people a wink and a cheesy gun finger gesture...but none of the passersby are fooled by the three dorks. They look so out of place, standing outside the room of the hottest, most popular girl on campus.
Once the hallway has cleared of bath towel-clad underclassmen and textbook-toting bookworms, the three look at one another, wordlessly acknowledging that now is the time. Just as Max reaches out to knock on the door, PJ grabs his wrist with a terrified expression. Not a day before they had been sitting in their dorm's common area watching, of all things, Animal House...in particular, PJ recollects the scene where 'Otter' goes to meet Mandy Pepperidge at the Rainbow Motel.
PJ: Dude, this can't be real. There's gotta be, like, a dozen frat guys in there waiting to beat us to a pulp.
Max: Seriously, 'Flounder'?
