Eternal Endeavor Demo

Happy Halloween, Folks!

It's the end of the month, so that means it's finally time to give you guys this little thing I've been working on with Gavel all month!

The demo for Eternal Endeavor is ready, so I'm just gonna let you guys jump right in and check it out.  You'll get to experience the prologue and then a bit more after that to see where things are going.

Like with my usual October stuff, we tried some new stuff out to see how it feels to everyone. This one is pretty different than what I'm used to for sure, but all in all, I'm happy with the direction it's going.  I didn't get to show off as much as I wanted, but the month kinda flew by.

Content Warning!

Adult Content, Strong Language, Fantasy Violence

Believe it or not, you can play this with a SFW mode too! If you go into your options, there is a button to toggle NSFW and SFW content, so if you need to play it with the dicks, you can do so!

Some of the images are placeholders (you might notice the EB sprites in some cases), and you get the pleasure of seeing some of my own lovely drawings and what I give to some folks for references when I need to, hah. (In case it isn't clear right away, it's the backgrounds in the later part of the demo).

We'd love to get some feedback about what you guys think when you're done, so please, do be sure to let us know!  You can do so here or in the Patron Discord server!

There are no download links for this right now, and the files are attached here for you folks to download straight from Patreon.

UPDATE 11/03/23

Uploaded new builds to adjust a few things and correct a major bug with hiring folks in the second part of the demo.

4:55PM - Fixed something else I broke.

We don't have an estimated time of release just yet either.  We'll be working on it here and there when we can, but it's definitely something I look forward to showing off more of.

ExcA updates will resume on the 16th with a Dwayne update! Then we'll have a Richard update and ooooone other before the end of the year, so be sure you stick around for that~

Thank you all so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy what we've put together so far!

I enjoyed the characters and the premise, and as always am drawn in by your writing. The mechanics and the interface were successful and I am definitely looking forward to see where this project develops. Regarding the dice mechanic, while functional as a proof-of-concept, I think it needs to be carefully tied in to both the game aspect and the story. The rolls need to have real impact on the progress of the story, otherwise there's no reason for them. At the same time the player must have some satisfying input or control other wise it becomes cycle of save/random roll/reload until you succeed which is no fun. Looking at what you've done so far the player control part will likely be selecting your party members, then choosing the best person/method for tackling each branching decision/dice roll? eg. If Azaghal is your party member then intimidation might work, whereas our bartender might impress through reputation, or our shady trader could bargain, and it's up to the player to understand their characters' strengths. Overall I'm impressed and excited with this expansion of your game world!

Well, thank you regardless, because this is still helpful feedback =3

was a fun little demo but not so sure i can give so much feedback since D&D games is not my kind of game, but i am sure other D&D fans may really like it since i can see the work you all have put in this :)

Glad to hear it!

I also have some hopefully helpful *SPOILER FILLED * feedback too. While I really like the dice mechanic, I didn't enjoy playing the inevitable failure my character would have despite succeeding every role. It works great for the story, but it's a bit pointless like good job on avoiding the blade, now get shot anyway lol. The best solution I've got is to rework the final rolls in both the flee & fight route to involve us somehow saving Zandahrel. Example being in the flee route we notice the archers about to shoot him and we make the choice to stop him from getting shot. A failure condition means game over, but success means we jump in front of the arrows and the story plays out as is. It's mostly for player agency so the rolls feel like they matter. Sorry for the essay but i hope this helps, I'm excited to see more, especially Drok & Lozran!

I finished the demo! Overall I really like the direction it's going. The games got a good UI, love the pixel characters, the story has an interesting setup, and I like the dice mechanic alot.
