Third Person POV
Hogwarts.
...
...
Voldemort's footsteps echoed as everyone fell silent, allowing the Dark Lord to cross the room, his gaze lingering on Severus for a moment before turning his attention to his Death Eaters.
"The Black family is here. Did they answer the call?" Voldemort asked.
"No, my Lord... no one came." A Death Eater whom Severus did not recognize spokeâin fact, he didnât know any of them there.
"I see... then the Black family shall be destroyed." Voldemort said as he continued walking toward the center of the place, turning his gaze back to Severus, who stood there calmly.
This made the Dark Lord raise an eyebrow. The girl was looking at him in terror, but Severus seemed far too calm for Voldemort's liking.
"So you're the man who killed most of my men... And to think you're just a boy..." Voldemort stopped about five meters from the circle where Severus and Lily stood.
"..."
Severus simply stared, saying nothing as he looked at Voldemort.
"You don't want to speak?" Voldemort seemed a little irritated by Severus's silence.
"My Lord! He's like that all the time, we tried using the Cruciatus, but somehow, he's immune." One of the men commented.
"He's immune to the curse?" Voldemort was surprised as he drew his wand and shot at Severusâthis was his chance to show the power he possessed against the one they all said was the second Dark Lord.
Voldemort had been having many problems due to the appearance of this figure, but what was harming him most was that his followers had begun to doubt him and his cause. He knew that a large portion of the noble families that followed him were only with him to gain benefits while siding with an immortal wizard to conquer the entire wizarding world of Great Britain.
He could already see a certain shift in the gaze of everyone the moment they saw the one they all feared, trapped there, inside a circle with a mudblood witch.
The energy from Voldemort's wand surged toward Severus quicklyâmore powerful than any other he had ever received before, after all, it came from the most powerful wizard in terms of dark magic.
The attack struck Severus squarely in the chest as Lily opened her eyes, but to all attentive eyes, a shock followed immediately after, because Severus simply stood under the effect of the Cruciatus Curse surging through his body, yet no sign of pain was seen on Snape as he maintained a neutral expression.
"I must admit yours tickles more than the others... but thatâs all."
Severus let his voice echo through the strangely cold hall.
"How... how is this possible?" Voldemort was bewildered. He had just proven to everyone that even his magic didnât work on that boy either, which was incredibly shameful in front of all his followers.
Lily couldnât believe it either, sharing the stunned look of the Death Eaters scattered throughout the hall.
"It's because my body is now so physically powerful that the pain you inflict on me is definitely weak."
Severus spoke.
"What do you mean?" Voldemort didnât understand.
"It's that I am currently the strongest living being in the world. My strength is more powerful than multiple giants combined, and with that, my resistance has also increased greatly."
Severus didnât hold back from sharing something that was obvious.
"How do you have these abilities? I certainly researched you. You were talented in some areas while studying at Hogwarts, even Abraxas Malfoy was recommending you after hearing of your feats through his son... but you've changed."
Voldemort didnât want to kill Severus so quickly. He wanted to understand... understand how he became so strong and powerful, something that made no sense in the Dark Lordâs mind.
He wanted that knowledgeâhow he became so strong, how his resistance worked to the point of being immune even to the Dark Lordâs own Cruciatus Curse, and how he could summon an army of shadows.
"You would never understand. After all, this power is beyond the limits of this world, and even after trying your whole life to grasp it, you wonât even scratch the surface of what my powers represent. After all, this is far older than the planet itself. Itâs about a war that happened hundreds of billions of years ago."
Severus spoke mockingly. How could a human on this so-young planet possibly comprehend the war between monarchs and rulers that devastated various planets and entire civilizations?
"..."
Severusâs words clearly left Voldemort and everyone there a little stunned, not knowing exactly what he meant by all that.
"You mock me, with strange words, but I will still uncover all your secrets here, while you are trapped."
Voldemort was confident due to Severusâs passivenessâhe believed the trap was working perfectly.
"You think too highly of yourself... but youâre not that special."
Severus mocked.
"Cruciatus! Imperius!"
Severus took the point-blank attack from Voldemort right after speaking, as the Dark Lord cast two spells on him quickly.
The first, just like before, had no effect, while the second didnât even need to be canceled by the systemâSeverusâs will was far greater than Voldemortâs.
"You keep insisting on something like this, but youâre weaker than I am..."
Severus mocked.
Everyone grew uneasy at that. Severus was mocking their master, making them question whether the circle was actually working on Severus and if he could truly release his magical creatures there.
Severus turned his gaze toward a severely irritated Voldemort from the mockery and looked around at everyone.
"You all know youâre going to die tonight, right? Iâm going to try to kill each one of youâincluding you, my dear uncle. After all, you are pests to this world, and I wonât leave this place without ridding it of people like you."
Severus said with a mocking tone.
That frightened everyone there, while Voldemort watched the situation spiral out of control as his men began to fear him, and he quickly turned back to Severus.
"Donât listen to him. Heâs bluffing. Weâve heard reports that his strength is indeed powerful, even able to break through magically reinforced walls, but he canât use magic. We can create something he himself canât break now that his magic is weak."
Voldemort said, gaining a renewed air of confidence from his followers.
"Severus..."
Lily was worried as she stood behind Severus.
"Enough theatrics..."
He said as he raised his finger.
"Iâm not just the physically strongest person in the world... but my magical powers are at a level not even you can handle."
He declared.
Severus obviously had the system to cancel the effect of the runes around him, but something else had caught his interestâit was time to show this man just how different they were from one another.
Severus couldnât destroy him now, since he first needed to deal with the condition of his soul, but at the same time, he needed to make it clear that he could no longer act openly against him and harm innocent people.
He raised a finger under Voldemortâs narrowed gaze, revealing a ring as he began to pull it off, everyone watching without understanding what he intended to doâbut nearly every wand was already pointed at him.
The moment he removed the ring Vujin had given him, an explosion of energy burst from Severus, taking everyone by surprise, as it created a whirlwind throughout the place. The energy was full of darkness, forming a sort of aura that shot upward like a hurricane.
Everyoneâs robes were blown backward, even forcing Voldemort to raise his hand against the energy, while all the Death Eaters looked on with fear, their cloaks flapping wildly in the wind. All the windows shattered a moment later, as the runes that drained Severus's magic activated within the circleâbut he didnât care.
"Severus..."
Lily stood within the very hurricane of dark energy, as blue lights flickered all around. She couldnât believe what she was witnessing.
Severusâs power, in terms of statistics, had already surpassed 1500 in magic. And that didnât just mean, for example, three times the magical strength of Dumbledore with the Elder Wand, as they had once fought against each other. The more points were reached, the more the tier of magic was unlocked, and the intensity of magic increased exponentially.
The wizarding world of Great Britain trembled the moment Severus's magical strength was released. Everyone sensitive to magic felt that a power stronger than any other had been unleashed in that instant.
The centaurs immediately grew terrifiedâeven at a distance from Severus to the Forbidden Forestâstill studying what had occurred that day along with professors and even Ministry members, as Juggernaut emitted sounds of rage at the same time a battle, seemingly, took place that day.
As Severusâs magical force was released, even the wizards and professors felt uneasy, looking toward a single direction.
"By Merlin! What is this?!"
McGonagall nearly screamed as chills ran down her body while they tried to investigate what had happened in the Forbidden Forest. After all, the lightning Severus had fired with the sword to cut Juggernaut had been seen from both Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.
"This is a magical explosion!"
One of the centaurs said as he looked at his kin.
"We must read the stars immediately! We donât know what this means!"
Another exclaimed as the wizards thereâboth from Hogwarts, the residents of Hogsmeade, and the Aurorsâstood in shock. The centaurs began running back to their tribe in search of answers.
"Itâs him..."
Someone broke the silence in that moment. Everyone turned to the Potions Master, Slughorn, who stood with a furrowed brow.
Professor Slughorn hadnât mentioned his encounter and conversation with Severus Snape that morning. He didnât even know what to do, torn in many ways regarding the boy who had revealed far more power than he had imaginedâso much that he even made Tom Riddle become his servant by taking his soul with a magic more terrifying than anything Slughorn had ever seen.
And the power nowâit was the same sensation heâd felt when Severus had revealed his strength that morning in his office. That agonizing feeling from such perverse magic was the same he felt now, only perhaps twenty times worse. He swallowed hard, wondering if anyoneâor even everyone in the magical worldâcould handle Severus Snape if he ever turned wicked.
"Severus... no wonder he can deal with Dumbledore... his power is far beyond anything weâve ever seen..."
Slughorn let the words drift on the wind as everyone stared on, stunned in realization.
He only hoped that Severus was still the person he had met and claimed to still be that dayâand that he would truly save Lily, as he said he would.
"So he took off the ring..."
In an office, Vujin was sipping tea when he felt the magical power coming from a certain direction.
"I must admit... heâs much stronger than I predicted. No wonder he got through Baranâs copy so easily...
But still, youâll need the Black Heart if you want to face the next challenge..."
Vujin chuckled before turning his gaze, his eyes glowing yellow.
"Your shadow is reaching into darkness... and the stronger you become, the darker the places you will reach... And if you stare too long into the abyss... The abyss may stare back at you... Isnât that right, my old companion... Ashborn."
He spoke those words with a calm and deliberate tone.
