Listen, y'all - I realized what was going down this volume (one of the most disgusting media moments I've witnessed) - so I braced for this volume!
But I forgot all the amazing character development with Himeno, the mystery surrounding Makima and the Gun Devil so far, reveals on Aki's character, and Denji being afraid to get "down and dirty...." this volume was messy as it was enthralling...but I won't be thinking about French kisses anytime soon...

Hahahaha, I can safely say I won’t be re-reading that manga chapter again anytime soon! I do think that the manga is more gross than the anime for this, for the reasons you talked about! Haha!! And yes, the idea about being crazy to survive because you won’t be afraid is wild…and kind of intriguing as a premise. Thank you so much for the comment!! :D

2025-12-23 22:40:12 +0000 UTCYeah, no, this volume with the Himeno/Denji scene is one I'll to avoid as much as I can. If memory still serves me, the manga is way grosser than the anime was. The anime, with its stylistic choices, and the censors as well, managed to at least cover some of the grossness... or am I thinking of the ED? Welp, all I do now is that I had to take some deep breaths after I read that chapter to keep my stomach settled. The idea that only the crazy devil hunters survive, because they aren't afraid of the devils and that makes them unpredictable, is so good! First of all, it makes a lof of in-universe sense, which is always a plus.

2025-12-18 05:37:34 +0000 UTCAlso I remember when the csm anime first launched there was some controversy in Japan about the art style direction for season 1, some people really did not like it. so much so that they actually switched directors for the new reze arc movie. And the new art style which was suppose to be more close the manga art style, has been very well received from what I’ve seen online, but that makes me wonder will they do the same for part 2 of the csm manga, because there is a pretty big shift in the art style in pt2, that makes me wonder would they take the risk of changing the anime’s art style again after the movies art style was so well received. Although after writing this I realize this comment is kinda pointless considering your not going the read past volume 5, but I guess it will make more sense when csm season 3 comes out in like 100 years from now😂
