Chihayafuru: Episodes 16 & 17 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**RECHARGED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

Honestly, I usually loathe recaps, but THIS one had several new scenes that made it worth it! And then, Chihaya hits a wall and what can she do to improve, now that she knows the daunting task of becoming Queen that's ahead of her? This was a great two-episode week for Chihayafuru!

NOTE: Episode 17 reaction starts at around 21:22 in the link!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Chihayafuru: Episodes 16 & 17 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! I loved it! The recap bonus material was SO CUTE - so worth the watch! YES, I fully agree that Taichi WANTED to pick Chihaya and I agree he’s not into Kana at all - but yes, he needs to be able to say out loud and proudly that he likes her before making a move - our man has room to grow! 😛 I love that this episode showed everyone has room to grow and are getting a game plan to move forward - I love that! Yes, Chihaya (I’ll talk about in Episode 18) is someone that you can yell at all day long to do something, but until she sees it for herself, she may not “get it,” but I’m glad it’s starting to sink in now! 😀 And Yessss, I love that Tsutomu is adding his expertise into this to prove his worth! I’m so excited to see his and Kana and Nishida’s growth in this series as well! Of course, we know that Taichi and Chihaya will be growing, but it’s good to see the other team members get some focus as well. And yes, I’m rooting for the two of them and Arata to get to play against each other (which is also with each other bwaahahaha) in the future! And Taichi just casually breaking up via phone…oohhhh Taichi! Hahaha! But it was definitely inevitable, so glad it’s out of the way now! Thank you for the comment and kind words! 😀

This double feature was a lot of fun! I was not expecting all the little sketches in the recap, but they were so cute, and a good place and form to let us know a little bit more about our beloved characters. Look, to me Taichi agreeing that Kano would be someone he dates is more to do with the fact that he acknowledges that dating Chihaya would mean Karuta-training dates *lol* and in that sense he agrees that Kano is the better dating material, because he also looked miserable when answering that and I don't think he's into Kano at all. That being said, yeah, my man needs to be able to acknowledge that he likes Chihaya out loud before he tries to make any moves on her. As for episode 17, well, I like that we can clearly see that the characters are all in different places, mentally and skill-wise now, and making their way to improving. As little as we get with Kano and Tsutomu, we can even see them making strides into becoming better karuta players. One thing that I loved seeing but it sort of baffled me that is only *now* that we are seeing it, is Chihaya trying to learn more about the meanings of the poems. To be honest, the moment that Kano joined the team I thought that was going to be her role in the story, to educate them, and us, about the meaning of the poems and make Chihaya fall as in love with all of them as she did with the Tatsuya River one... I guess it's better late than never, and I like that that aspect of things IS being explored, but I truly thought it would happen sooner. What I did love, no complaints at all, was seeing Tsutomu add to the team with his skill of analyzing data. I like seeing all of them add with their own skillsets and interests; and, well, with how down Tsutomu usually feels with his struggles with Karuta, it was nice seeing something in which he alone is the best at, and that he can help the others in a meaningful way, and I hope he can acknowledge that and appreciate his part in it. Taichi and his girlfriend just breaking up through the phone is wild. Gosh, I don't blame the girl for not even wanting to do it in person, since she is the one that called, considering how we have not seen or heard Taichi mention her at all, meaning that he probably had not being paying her any attention... It was hilarious, though, seeing everyone else's reactions to it. I can't wait to see Chihaya and Taichi improve, I'll admit. Now that they both have new understandings of where they each are in regards to their abilities. I just want to see Arata, Taichi, and Chihaya playing Karuta together again, or against each other.
