A Place Further Than the Universe: Episode 11 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*PISSING OFF HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

After helping Yuzuki to get her groove, it only feels fitting that we take a glimpse into Hinata and her past -- as a gaggle of "ghosters" resurface to try and reforge a connection with her...but does she even want that?

This episode was such a great discussion of friendship, forgiveness, and that we all have the right to choose our social circles and move forward from trauma and abuse without having to "accept" or take responsibility from the abuser.

NOTE: If you or someone you know is having suicidal ideations, please don't hesitate to call or text 988 for help and know you are not alone and are loved!

Shira-Hina was not a bond I was expecting at first but it’s so good! I love the bond they form in this episode! I just love how Shirase is able to express herself, especially around her friends! And yes, it’s a great extension from the passport story! And I love how it shows the changes for all four of them and their actions and emotions around each other from then to now - not nearly the distance or hesitation! And seriously, I love how Shirase stands up for Hinata! I would love to have a friend like any of these four! Yessss, 2/4 complete! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

I just love the bonding of Shira-Hina so so much, the conversation between them, the touching moment of the hugging, watching these two different personalities handling this tough situation in relationship is such a satisfaction. I cry for that talk of Shirase, the sensible stepping up of Kimari and the hugging of our friendship monster Yuzuki again, especially at the end, what a hot shot of Shirase saying “Pissed off!” This episode perfectly extends the storytelling in the back of that passport missing. Hinata is still stuck in her trauma, now even have to face those people again. But this time, she gets the full support of her three girls, especially Shirase, that’s an another amazing growing up moment for her. Just imagine how moved it would be to have one friend like Shirase gets your back and will stand up for you no matter what. I will have no regrets if I have one friend like her in my life. Now we can say 2/4 missions completed, Hinata could finally be truly free from her past trauma.

Yeah, I can understand culture, but I’m still going to call out if it was a bad move in the discussion regardless and I feel Hinata and Shirase calling it out as well makes it justified to point out that “culturally acceptable” or not, it was not appropriate or right to do. So I’m glad they called them out - things change in our society once people start pointing them out and voices are heard - that’s led to the advancement (and sometimes regression) of societies across the globe for centuries and it was a nice move played here! Thank you for the comment and kind words! I’m excited and nervous for these last two episodes!

Hinata's teammates were very two faced about the situation, but that's likely a result of Japanese culture. Conflict is something to avoid at all costs, specially with someone who is at a place of higher standing. I'm not trying to excuse them tho because Hinata was encouraged by them to try her best, which is something she was hesitant to do. The socially acceptable thing to do would have been to tell Hinata that if she wasn't sure then she should back off. But they decided to push her and should have stood by their decision. Instead they folded when confronted by the senpai. In our culture it probably would be easier to just push away those people, but Hinata probably feels at least partially responsible for putting them in that situation. Only 2 more episodes left, I can't wait!
