Meanwhile, the Scorpion King is "waking it up" on his end too, with some sneaky and conniving plots underfoot! There's a lot of matchmaking and questioning of "loyalty" this episode and the drama was something I was HERE FOR!

It also makes the story he told CL about the honey hurt even more. He treasures that sweet moment with ZZS so much because itβs the only relief he had before being thrown into hell basically. The show doesnβt say it outright, but we kind of know WKXβs age at this point. GX said he joined Ghost Valley around 8 or 9 years old. And ZZS said itβs been 20 years since his master saved WKXβs family. So heβs around 28 or 29 now. The relationship between WKX and GX is one of my favorite things in the show, and this episode shows it so well. I keep imagining teenage WKX raising GX in that place and just want to cry. Just two souls saving each other and clinging to each other to survive despite how bad and messed up everything is. WKX has troubles showing his vulnerable side to the ones he loves. With ZZS, he has no problem showing physical attraction, but he freezes up whenever ZZS returns those feelings in a way that asks him to open up. Same with Gu Xiang. Heβs visibly affected when she cries, but he tries to act calm and cool, and ends up projecting his insecurity when caught off guard. He has a heartfelt moment with CWN, but when he gives her to him, he plays it off like a master selling his maid. Itβs kind of cute, like siblings joking around, but ZZS notices right away that WKX is still uncomfortable about letting her go so suddenly. CWN is just so sincere and so precious. I remember another reactor said: "If I believe in any heterosexual dumbass, it's THIS heterosexual dumbass" about him lol. And poor GX still so conflicted π. Also, I love how the straight and gay couple are a direct parallel, so through exploring the relationship of CWN and GX, we also get to explore the main couple too without censorship intervening haha. Lmao I imagine ZZS went to the kitchen to check on the cooking, saw CWN already doing the job, and just walked away. ZZS and CL both come from rich backgrounds and canβt cook. ZZS worked as an assassin, but for a prince and the royal court, so I doubt he ever had to worry about that stuff. GX literally scolded them for not knowing how to grill a fish at the start of the show. The only people weβve seen cook are GX, WKX (the fish soup when they were on the road trip with YBY), and now CWN.
