BLUE LOCK: Reo x Nagi One-Shot Manga Reactions! (Featuring Itoshi Rin!)

I just loved all three of these! The art of Blue Lock is truly amazing so far! PFFFTTT I can’t believe my first Blue Lock experience wasn’t with the main mangaka hahahaha – at least I DID get to see the actual artist! 😛I will say, the spinoff artist has the style DOWN! I really like Sannomiya’s soft style for them on the thumbnail for the “shipping” angle, but I’m not surprised the Blue Lock actual artist has a sharper style! For the horror elements and all, haha!! But I like they all have experience in that genre! WOW, I am all the timeline putting this in May! Not going to lie, this being Nagi’s Birthday month made me happy that this won the poll! 😀The stars aligned! Speaking of stars, ooooh, I stand corrected - I think I remember y’all saying Reo was a Leo - he doesn’t read as Leo-coded, so that’s interesting. APPLES OF LOVE?! HERE FOR IT. All the symbolism and I am here for it! I need a Snow White crossover now with the “poisoned apple” and Nagi and Reo as the Prince and Snow White! The grape connection is great, too! Honestly, the Rin spinoff might be too much - I think we’re getting plenty with him with Sae, Isagi, and all that drama, hahaha!! But give me more with BL loving between Nagi and Reo! 😛 I do like that Rin craves salty after sweet! TAKE NOTES, ISAGI! So…are we thinking that without his comfort foods, that helped make him even more grumpy in Blue Lock? Again, Isagi…Take. Notes. I also love the sweet and sour vs. salty and sweet! And oooohhhhhh – WAIT – Isagi is sweet and salty - WHAT RIN NEEDS/CRAVES! *whips out laptops to take extensive notes* Rin and his brother are made…differently, for sure. I do appreciate the discussion of instinct along with intuition and resolve. Oh, I for SURE missed the “non-alcoholic” part, there! That’s nice at least! I like the connection to the galaxy motif as well. Yeah, they’re basically married and I love it! Thank you for the comment and the kind words - I loved getting a jolt of Blue Lock into the veins!

I remember when the raw scans of these one-shots first came out and I was freaking out seeing that we were getting these cute slice-of-life stories! Glad you enjoyed them, and yeah the art in Blue Lock is amazing! It’s fun that your first experience of a Blue Lock-related manga (Episode Harajuku) is drawn by the spin-off illustrator Sannomiya Kouta. But you also read Episode Omotesando, drawn by the main Blue Lock illustrator Nomura Yusuke, so it balances out haha. Honestly, until today, I thought that Omotesando was also drawn by Sannomiya, so it really goes to show how well Sannomiya captured Nomura’s art style and added his own personal flair! By the way, the Reonagi art on the cover of Episode Harajuku (this video’s thumbnail) is drawn by Sannomiya. I think Nomura’s art is more sharp and cool, while Sannomiya’s is more soft and pretty. Nice catch on noticing Reo’s horror-like face in Episode Harajuku! I totally overlooked that lol. So, I found out that Sannomiya also drew the art for the manga Tesla Note and manga Seishun Soukanzu (Youth Relationship Chart). When I searched up panels of these two works, I saw violence, gore, body horror, and creepy clowns. So this means Kaneshiro, Nomura, and Sannomiya all have backgrounds in horror manga before working on Blue Lock lol. Kaneshiro's got a specific criteria it seems. I’m trying to figure out the timeline stuff. Since the Harajuku date happened 180 days (~6 months) before they entered Blue Lock, which was in November, the first 2 one-shots must’ve taken place on a day in May. The timing of this reaction coming out is impeccable and in Nagi’s birth month, too! Small correction about Reo’s zodiac sign, he’s a Leo! Apparently, candy apples are called “apples of love” in Brazil and France. And on this French Canadian website, it said, “The candy apple is, above all, a romantic confection” and an iconic Valentine's Day treat and the origin of its symbolism: the story of Adam and Eve. And Reo proposes to Nagi with the candy apple in hand, uh-huh very on the nose! On the back of Nagi’s phone, you can see a grape symbol instead of an apple. And as you said, Reo and grapes make sense together. Hm maybe it also relates to the champagne or sparkling wine Reo and Nagi drink in the One-shot Letter. In an old interview with Kaneshiro, he said he was debating between making a spin-off about Nagi or Rin, but this time, he decided to go with Nagi. So, I like that Episode Omotesando is kind of giving us a glimpse of a potential “Episode Rin” spin-off. Rin craving salty food after eating sweet food is so real. I’ve got a sweet tooth and can relate to that. And vice versa too. Rin calls tea and sea bream ochazuke his “mental stabilizers” and says he has to eat them at least twice a month.. That’s pretty intense, I can imagine him experiencing withdrawals while stuck in Blue Lock, not having access to his comfort food. Helps explain why he’s so grumpy lol. He must be really relying on his yoga routine to keep himself somewhat sane or something like that. Looking at these characters’ food choices and taste in flavors: Nagi - candy apple (and lemon). Reo - strawberry and grape. Both like sweet and sour! And Rin - Mont Blanc and sea bream ochazuke - sweet and salty. Like you said, Isagi is sweet. But he’s also a shrimp which is salty! (also a seafood like sea bream fish) I love how unfazed Rin is when he marches with determination towards the stadium after facing a life-and-death situation. Rin was hesitating about whether to go to watch Sae or not, but his body moved faster than his mind and he instantly reacted to the ticket flying out. And he affirms this by saying “I'll follow my instincts,” his feelings of revenge. He discarded his previous worry that accepting the ticket would mean that he’s given up on crushing Sae, and now decided to capitalize on this opportunity as fuel for his motivation. I like how Rin’s instinct about Sae can be paralleled to Reo trusting his gut feeling or intuition about Nagi. Both cases show the sources of their resolve. In Special Oneshot: Letter, I think you missed the small dialogue text of Reo saying “I brought non-alcoholic champagne!” They’re not THAT much of delinquents haha. Since Reo’s room is so extravagant and eccentric, I like to think that it's super colorful and psychedelic, to go with his chameleon theme. It’s neat that space development is one of Mikage Corp’s businesses, and then there’s Nagi galaxy motif! They’re practically saying their wedding vows fr
