Hahaha, Bocchi would have NOT agreed to meet Shirase on that train for sure! That’s hilarious to think about, though - oh what might have been! YES, I was thinking of Terminator as well! Let’s not make Katy Perry feel worse than she already may…oof. XD I agree, this definitely has this down to earth feel to it! And it definitely has an “alien” feel to it in that regard while still being realistic. Thank you for the comment!

2025-05-04 16:08:29 +0000 UTCThankfully Bocchi is in a different show, because that scene of them running around all over Shinjuku had so much 'seishun energy' she wouldn't have been happy. Also, one of the girls that chased them was such efficient runner she reminded me of T-1000 from Terminator 2. Anyway, I loved that explanation of why Antarctica gets called a place further than the universe, if they pull it off these high school girls really will be putting Katy Perry to shame. I think that's the best thing about the setup of this show is that there's plenty of stories of epic journeys set in fantasy or sci-fi, but not so much in a down to earth setting, the closest I can think of are road-trip stories, but the goal being Antarctica makes it so much more than that because it really is such an alien place from day to day life.
