This episode had romance and incoming angst to the max and I am so nervous for next week but also the AUDACITY of this cliffhanger!

OKAY LOOK I WAS THINKING OF THE REFERENCE – I was just trying to avoid the MXTX Gutter Mind! 😛XD The color scheme of the green and red is so good! Gao Chong showing up and intersecting with the Tragicomic Ghost is WILD – I was not expecting that development! The makeup scene is just so good - these two could flirt anywhere! And yesssss, the connections of loving someone enough to pose as them (or knowing them enough) was so well done! Ye BaiYi is seriously here with the Yoda vibes! His nonchalance is SOMETHING ELSE. Also, he’s a man that just goes right into action - and attracts WKX to the rescue! Yu Qiufeng and Liu Qianqiao was so entrancing! I was LIVING FOR THEM. The RAIN - of course it’s raining! I feel it makes perfect sense of how it’s connecting the Tragicomic Ghost to her through her being cast out by Qiufeng’s wife. That is interesting to hear about BL and censorship – the idea of silver butterflies covering kisses is DEFINITELY giving HOB! And I definitely agree that western dramas just get more “sexual” overtly on the screen, but that is interesting to know! Thank you for the comment and clarifying all of that!

Meanwhile my NSFW brain can't help but think of the story about the sword and the scabbard in terms of sexual love with the sword being euphemistic for a penis and the scabbard being the gender neutral place of where it gets put 🤭🤣 I just love the colour scheme for the Tragicomic Ghost. Typically red and green make me think of Christmas, but the colouring for the Tragicomic Ghost's lair gives a much more spooky/ghostly vibe to it. Who knew even disguising make-up could be used as a method of flirting?? 🥰 Zhou Zishu's words about knowing the person well enough to disguise as a person is such a great way to lead into learning that Liu Qianqiao imitated Yu Qiufeng. Ye Bai Yi is here!!! 🥳🤍 I've been waiting for his introduction since you started. I love his nonchalance with the Five Lakes Alliance, and then the way he enjoys his food. Gao Chong coming in and murdering the Tragicomic Ghost's people is truly unexpected. For him to attack her of all people is truly shocking. I really love getting Luo Qianqiao's backstory. It's really painful. Explains perfectly why it's now raining 😆 But also interesting that as a Ghost she is a subordinate of the Tragicomic Ghost given how she was cast out by Yu Qiufeng's wife. Another reason for loving Ye Bai Yi, instead of talking Zhou Zishu into showing him his wounds he just immediately goes to trying to fight him and force his clothes off of him 😂 Means we get Wen Ke Xing coming in to protect his man 😍 So from CDramas, donghua and manhua that I've watched and read it honestly depends on the rating in regards to the censorship even for straight couples. They definitely don't get censored to the same extreme as BL couples in live actions/donghua but in manhua there is a similarity in terms of censorship for kissing scenes (I think about a year or so ago it was silver butterflies being placed to hide their lips touching from view so many people got on board blaming Hua Cheng for the censorship 🤣) or bedroom scenes (bodies shrouded in smoke/fog or flowers, or just a fade to black), depending on what the age rating on the manhua is. In dramas or donghua I have found that there isn't the same subtext applied for heterosexual couples as there is for homosexual ones, and they can be more overt in the language used and actions between the couple. What I have noticed though is that there is a difference in romance or sex scenes in a lot of Chinese dramas in comparison to a lot of Western dramas; biggest difference being that typically kisses are done with their mouths firmly closed and so not usually the kind of passionate kissing with tongues that appear in Western dramas.
