Revolutionary Girl Utena - AFTER THE REVOLUTION: Manga Reaction!

HAHAHAH *nervous laughs in 30's* I just LOVE Inu-Oh so much! Ugh, I am 100% here for that movie so much - at least this had some crazy moments that are worth talking over! I've seen more of the FANDOMS get into the incestuous ships than the series themselves have the "subtext" hinting at it - you are so right about Bungo Stray Dogs, though. I would say Ouran High School Host Club takes the "twins in a relationship" trope to a point but it's making fun of it, mainly - I've seen people shipping a pair of twins in Haikyuu but luckily, not much in-show context, there. But yeah, it's just not a trope I ascribe to, personally. I definitely am glad I read the manga and got to see the madness! I'm hoping the livestream down the road gives us the chance to talk more about it! Thank you for continuing on with me for the manga and I'm DEFINITELY excited for the series to come!

Who wants to see Utena and Anthy as old, decrepit ladies right? You know, in their 30s? πŸ˜‚ Haha, ok Chiho Saito. Maybe we should check in with Inu-Oh, which is a great movie full of actual older characters, and they are drawn so interestingly and bring so much realism and life to the movie! But I get it, Utena is not about realism! :) So, I wonder, is there actually an anime series you've seen where the siblings with the playful incestuous tendencies are called out and communicated and put to a stop? Because I want to see it! And not oh, we're ACTUALLY half-siblings, so it's ok. We had Nanami and Touga in the main series, and in the manga we get Miki and Kozue (and almost in the movie too). Another one that immediately comes to mind is Bungo Stray Dogs. It's been a while since I've seen it, but it brings in a pair of siblings around two or three episodes in locking lips and caressing each other in a diner while talking to the two main characters! Yeah, I don't get it, it's definitely something I don't need to be so recurring/tropey. I think it's good that you're able to process the episodes a bit more down the road, that's great! Thanks for the reaction to the manga, it was fun! Too bad it ended up being partly "surface deep," and a few parts of the translation being "youtube comments" quality, but the art sure looked nice!
