So I've been battling a few art demons lately (sadly not the kpop demon hunter kind 😋) and when I end up hitting that wall and being unable to break through, sometimes I just have to go back. Go back to observing, go back to disjointed floating body parts, go back to a type of 'feeling' I want to learn to create in my art by recreating from a reference photo. To study without having to use any part of my brain for creativity; so I do these kinds of "anatomy studies".
Everything on this page was referenced from photos that were gathered (or personally taken myself e.g. hand gestures) and cropped so that I could study and focus on touch, the feeling behind touching, the language it can convey without any words. Despite hands being one of the most universally hated body part that artists have to draw, we sometimes discredit how expressive it can be and how it can convey emotions in it's own way, which made understand a little about how and why Horikoshi LOVES to draw hands so much.
No idea if I'm done beating the shit outta those art demons (gotta work on some other art to find that out), but there is something therapeutic about just throwing a bunch of anatomy body parts to a page with no creative purpose other than to observe, feel, and recreate it.
