I hope that y'all enjoy the first edition to this new Mermay AU series! A big thank you to LoudParrot for giving the idea of business man Enji buying Mer Hawks, as well as a few others (here and on bluesky/twitter) who suggested the ideas of fish courting gestures :)
I dunno where this comic is going to go in next year's edition, or if our fishy friend will get a chance to top the big guy or how I'd manage to make that work, but that's next years Ellie's problem π
Sorry that I may seem to have little to say, I'm actually super nervous about sharing this new AU since the previous Mermay EnHo AU was well loved by a lot, and I guess I'm a little worried whether this one will be liked. So I really do hope everyone enjoys it!

oh no D8 I got no idea why it's doing that, these pages are all high resolution so it may be the size taking long to load? If you are doing it on app it can take awhile to load, maybe try checking on web browser if it keeps being a dick?

I am really glad you enjoyed it (was literally waiting to see your comment and reaction haha) thank you for suggesting the idea, as soon as you did it was like a key unlocking all sorts of ideas, and then you suggested the pool and that helped me out as well. Just AHHHhhhhh I'm so happy, this helped me out so much and I genuinely was nervous about this comic but I feel more confident now to maybe get back into drawing both short and longer comics~! The only draw back with the longer comics is that it takes really long which worries me about y'all having to wait but I guess we'll just to see how it goes when I get to another one!

This is the second longest comic I've ever done and of course it was for Mermay haha but I'm really happy everyone is enjoying it, I was so, so nervous about it and now I'm so much less so I feel a little more confidence now to get back into making comics again :)

I love the gradient map feature in clip studio paint, it really helps make simple grey scale comic pages pop a little more than if I just laid the same blue colour over everything. Yesss agreed, LoudParrots idea of business man Enji buying Hawks worked so well, I immediately ended up writing a whole ass script for it as soon as I read it xD I'm so glad you enjoyed it! π I was nervous no one would like it so I'm really glad people are enjoying it ; v ;
