A little side by side of the original sketch that this was a redraw of, with of course a new bonus twist, the step by step and if you scroll down you can download the 20+min timelapse of making this piece! You can watch me struggle my way through the whole thing because sometimes that's just how art is, it's not always smooth sailing.

Back in 2022 when I originally thought up the idea for that sketch I had been out on my weekly jog, I remember excitedly telling my at the time endhawks artist friend and begun to sketch it out sharing a screenshot with them for feedback.
The excitement was short lived because a few days later a fellow artist within the fan-space (who knew nothing of my sketch) shared a piece that was very similar, so similar that I ended up telling my endhawks artist friend that I could now "never post my sketch because people would think I had copied that other popular artist".
These fears were not unfounded, the art community is constantly calling each other out for "copying" poses or ideas, like the concept of coincidence is not an option and that originality is not utterly dead.
Regardless, I did end up posting the 2022 sketch to twitter, I wasn't happy with it back then and looking at it now I understand exactly why, but it didn't matter because not long later I deleted the twitter post for fear of someone making the comparison with that other artist's post.

It's scary to be an artist in this day and age now, if it's not the worries of AI, sometimes it's the worry about people (or fellow artists) accusing us of things we didn't do.
But despite the fear I still have to post this, I am really proud of myself for trying to learn to draw trans anatomy, to be a better artist, to try and represent different genders/sexes, and for not giving up even though it took almost a year to finish this particular art off.
This time I will share it to Twitter, and I won't be deleting it, and I'll be sharing a 1min version of the timelapse as well, I'm not the same artist I was in 2022 or in 2024, I've grown and tried to better myself & my art. Thank you for enjoying my art and my journey πŸ’™
