Thank you for 2024

In Japan there is a tradition called 'Hatsuhinode' where you watch the first sunrise of the new year. So I wanted to draw that for us here, so that we can all watch together a new sunrise.

I blinked and before I knew it, another entire year on patreon has passed and this is my second year having a patreon.
So much has happened this year, not just for myself but for the world and of course for you all as well, but look at us. Here we are, somehow through all the bullshit that was 2024 we made it to the end. We found the strength despite how hard this year has been, and I just want to say how proud of everyone I am for being able to stand here at the finish line of 2024 to collectively drop kick this year outta the damn door!

Despite everything that happened for myself, my health, having no job then finding a job, then my health declining; I still had those I love, I had this patreon, and I had all of you here cheering me on. Whether it was a single heart, a comment here or there, you all showed your support in your own ways, and your support kept me going, helped keep a roof over my head, and my cats fed, so from me and my family to you and yours, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your support, and seeing the worth in the things I create, even when sometimes I don't see it myself.

I look back on the year and I worry sometimes I didn't achieve anything, as an artist.
But despite that thought, I have some things that come to mind, to remind me to be proud of who I am as an artist right now.
Things like, I made some amazing merchandise thanks to you all. It is so much fun to work with you all to come up with the merch together of our favourite characters. I got the chance to also publish my first ever digital artbook this year, I love that it was Endhawks. On the comic front, I didn't make as many NSFW comics this year, but the ones I did, I put all my artist's heart and soul into them, even drawing the longest comic I've ever made (the 18pg Endhawks mermay comic!). Even with the art struggle bus towards the end of the year I am proud of how far I've come as an artist, even if I don't feel like that every day of the year.

Viktor from Arcane in season 2 said "There is no prize for perfection, only an end to pursuit" and I feel this can also describe artists as well. We chase for finding perfection in our art, to reach that peak where in our eyes it is perfect, but, it puts an end to our pursuit, to our willing to try new things, to experiment, to seek knowledge, to keep striving to be better artists, so with that, one of my goal for 2025 is to continue my art pursuit, wherever that path takes me; whatever highs or lows it brings. And I hope that you'll be willing to continue to support me for that journey, whether here on patreon or on my social medias accounts.
