Hawks - Motorcycle B&W
Added 2023-11-24 04:06:53 +0000 UTCMany months ago I was introduced to a very iconic Gay erotica artist by the name of Touko Valio Laaksonen, or more commonly known as 'Tom of Finland'. Most well known for his Black and white gay erotica arts, the level of shading and detail he'd put into them was honestly amazing, he would even take his own reference photos to use in his work (e.g. photograph of men in leather, on motorcycles etc).
So I wanted to take a page out of his book (albeit with less dick on show haha) and do a pinup piece in black and white, to forget about colour and just focus on the dark vs light values. I also only use one brush for this whole artwork! Sketch, lineart, shading all of it done with my favourite pencil brush :)
Of course I used a reference for the motorcycle, cause there was no way I knew what a motorcycle looks like. Remember folks, references are your friend, and they help exercise an artists' most important tool; your observation skills!
I'll be switching back to finishing up some SFW Endhawks sketch suggestions I got from twitter people before I do the thank you artwork for this month :)

Thank you Tau! It means a lot to hear you liked his hair cause I think the one thing all Hawks artists can collectively agree on is his hair is a pain in the ass xD So I feel very happy to know I did a good job with it! Gotta make the pretty boy oh so pretty~ hehe
