Enho Beach Day Comic WIP
Added 2023-06-19 03:40:21 +0000 UTCAfter multiple hours, I managed to get all the insanely rough sketches/idea for the beach day comic done! (actually it's not done cause im missing the last two pages to finish off the comic but i'll figure that out later)
I would argue that this is probably the unglamorous side of comic making, the really rough, stick and circles sketching to vaguely indicate what I want to be in the panel just so I can figure out flow, dialogue, panels and THEN it gets to have a second round where I refine the sketches using any references I need so that I exactly known what I'm drawing when I go into the lineart phase.
I think this is the side that a lot of artists have difficulty showing to people, showing what we see as "our really rough gross sketches" that make you as the artist question if you're actually good at art or not, and a lot of artists won't show this stage, they want their viewers to see only the "perfect" parts, almost carefully curating your experience of them as an artist.
I'm not going to deny that I don't do it as well, I show the clean sketches, the clean lineart and "finished" artworks too, but I think as an artist it's important for me to be more open with you all, showing the shitty sides as well, I'm not talented like some artists I know, I'm just someone who struggles, and keeps going with art because for as much of a struggle it is, I've been coming to love it, and accept that it isn't always perfect or need to be perfect, I just need to love it and put the continual effort in to keep improving.
So yeah! This is the roughs, I don't know if I'll get it done this month or not, I have a lot of things going on in my life right now and it's hard to draw the horny when you are stressed, but I'll be doing my best, and it will get done!
