Blood Covenant - Character Art (nsfw)

In an ancient time, a thousand years ago.

I was the tyrant warrior lord, Margrave Vaclav. I rebelled against the Holy Queen Theophania and lead a campaign of violence across the land.

My people were known for our blood magic, but when I assumed governance, my ambitions knew no limits. We became a people of death and hunger, immortal and terrible. We lived for bloodshed. The work welcomed dark spirits into our flesh, changing my body and those of my vassals, giving us a strange sanguine hunger.

We came up against the great armies of the west, the Queen’s armies, lead by the Blessed Exarch Hieronymos. They were on a holy crusade to end the horrors of my rule, warrior saints frenzied on ritual powders. The battlefield boiled with flesh and bone until a few endured, and I faced the Exarch himself, and at last, even as he scarred me with his sacred artifacts, I plunged my spear through his body...

And unfortunate it was, for me, suffering in secret from that uncommon condition that is the omega sex, that I at last found and imprinted on my alpha, as he bled out below me.

Squeaking in last minute this month with some character art for Blood Covenant~ The script is done and I'm working on thumbs, so I'm planning to start it next month :))))

The colors are a little rough because these are just layouts for the designs; I will probably adjust/tweak things as I draw the comic. I'm planning to do use this palette for the whole book, so hopefully it doesn't backfire on me... 

I wanted to mention some influences! The look of Hieronymos' armor was giving me trouble until I looked at some Moebius artworks, so a lot of influence comes from his work; originally his hat/mask was shaped like a bishop's hat. I also discovered the work of Philippe Druillet while I was researching wild fantasy/scifi art, and I've got a book of his I'll have open when I'm drawing the pages... It's not going to look half as awesome as his layouts but I hope it will inspire me to not only draw rectangle panels on a few of the pages XD That typography makes me sob and weep...

Please let me know what you think! It's been awhile since I did actual character design layouts, I feel kinda rusty, but I think I got most of the vibes I wanted down with these sketches :)
