Hello!
Today's devblog is public, because we would like to sum up the results of the year and share them with everyone who follows this project and is waiting for news.
But first, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2020 turned out to be not a very good year, and we hope that you all at least got through it safe and sound. Let's wish 2021 will be better.
While our artists are busy working on the art for a future update, we asked RAF_art to help us with the greeting card. This year we chose Ai'Lu because the content in the upcoming update will focus mostly on her.
If you've seen our devblog last month, then you probably know that we were planning to release version 0.2 this month before Christmas. Unfortunately, the last scene with Ai'Lu is still not ready.
In predicting a release date, we underestimated the complexity of this scene and the impact of the holidays on our workflow. We are very sorry for that. Therefore, if you made a $10 pledge in December pending Early Access and now decide to cancel or decrease it, your pledge will remain valid at the time of release. You just need to contact us to get your download link.
So what's so special about this scene that it's worth delaying the release? Well, this will be our first scene with full different angles. It may not sound very impressive, but for a 2D game with completely original drawings, it means a lot of extra work. The sketches will be ready very soon, maybe we can even finish the pictures this year.
Now that we've got that covered, let's talk about 0.2 in general. If you regularly read our devblogs, you already know everything, but if you only tried version 0.1 in June and have been waiting for new content since then, or have played only the Demo at all, this information may be interesting for you.
At the moment we are finishing version 0.2, and this will not be just an update, but a real remake of the game on the Unity engine. We made such a radical decision as changing the engine, because RenPy turned out to be a poor choice for the way we saw the game. Unfortunately, we realized this only after the release of version 0.1, but we are still glad that we are doing this now, when we did not have to port much content yet. The new version will bring stability improvements and new gameplay features. In addition, it will be easier for us to release new content by working with our own engine. By the way, we did not waste time and reworked almost all the texts in the game, now the English localization should become much better :) The official Russian version will also appear someday, if we see that enough of our Patrons want it.
What do you guys think about this? Maybe you have any wishes for future game content, features or even communication (for example, you want an official Discord server)? If yes, write about it in the comments, we will be very glad to hear your opinion.
