I'm writing this little blurb at 1am so this might come out misphrased, but I wanted to mention it; I almost cut this conversation because I felt like it kind of encapsulates some of the othering Will experiences as a witch, and it feels kind of weird for Bev, a POC, to have to apologize to Will, a white guy, for treating him badly based on a kind of prejudice that exists in this universe. I don't know if anyone will even read that into this but I kept thinking it while I was working, so I wanted to mention it.
The thing I wanted to say about it is that, this sort of dynamic exists in the show as well, except it's more related to Will's mental health and his empathy disorder, and also the set of behaviors he's adapted to keep people distant. The thing I find interesting about the dynamic is that people basically get a vibe off him that they don't like, and by the end of the show, it turns out that they're kinda right: Will is just as dangerous as the killers they're hunting. It doesn't excuse the treatment, but the idea that I find interesting is that something kicks off in their animal brain when they meet him, and as he experiences his "becoming" they have to fight harder and harder to ignore those instincts, until they just can't anymore.
So that's what I was thinking about here; the magic IS dangerous, and people who are easier to corrupt are also more wary of it. I love Bev and how much of a bro she is to Will and so I always wanted to bring her back around, but, yeah... It doesn't mean she wasn't right about being wary :)
