Patreon Charges Tomorrow and Sales Tax!
Added 2020-06-30 17:47:02 +0000 UTCJust a reminder that charges tomorrow may include sales tax; I mentioned it briefly before, but Patreon was recently required by law to begin charging and remitting sales tax on our behalf. This, like VAT, and Patreon's fees, is money that Patreon holds on to; this isn't extra money that I'm taking from you. It will depend on your location and whether the types of rewards I provide are considered taxable according to your local laws, so unfortunately I won't be able to tell you whether your pledge will include a tax yet.
Please feel free to share your feedback here. I've assigned values to the types of posts in my tiers which will hopefully reduce the cost a little. If the tax is outrageous, I'd like to hear about it, so that I can doublecheck if I've made any mistakes on my end.
