The problem seems to be related to group messages, but I don't know if you folks can even see whether or not you're replying to a group message when you send me messages in different ways, so currently there's nothing I can really do to prevent the problem from reoccurring without Patreon solving it on their end. If you CAN see that you're replying to a group message, please start a fresh one in the future if you're able to!
At least I know now there is some way to get those missing messages to reappear, though I just got about 80 messages in my inbox so it's not an ideal solution loll

Hey folks, weird ask, but could one or two of you who haven't messaged me before please send me a little test message via the DM system? I'm having another messaging issue and just want to check if it's related to the message count falling a certain way.
Literally the message could just say "test", you don't have to think of anything to say! I just need to change the message count to see if that's what's causing the issue before contacting support again.

Good to know it's a known problem! It's the first time I've encountered it; I haven't used group messaging since like 2018 since it was so clunky, but once in awhile someone replies to an old one and bumps it and so that's why I've been having trouble lately. But since I can't really see what patrons see I'm not sure if they're even able to choose to start a new thread in different platforms or not. It's a tough problem, it'd be great if Patreon patched it!

2020-01-23 00:03:44 +0000 UTCOh yea another patreon I follow adds a disclaimer to the messages where they send out the packs saying not to respond because it causes issues...has been that way for a long time so might just need to avoid group conversations (as opposed to just sending individual messages to multiple people). I think this is why some people link a discord channel to their patreon since that naturally allows that kind of group discussion format
