Wrut and the Alligator (wip/unfinished)(mildly nsfw)
Added 2019-08-17 19:34:47 +0000 UTCI've been trying to set some time each week aside for me to use on whatever projects I want to work on, and this week I attempted to do a rendering study based on some of my favorite fantasy artists... but then I ran out of time and have to put it down and I'm not sure if I'll pick it up again lol~ At least I spent some time studying color choices :P Also I realized he looks a little too "Creation of Adam" lol
I've been looking at a lot of Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta artworks still, mostly because it's the art genre I'd like to emulate for Wrut, but also because I love how they render these mossy swampy trees and craggy/alien landscapes and I'd love to get better at designing stuff like that. I also love how particularly Frazetta's illustrations are so well designed that they just have big areas of nothing and don't have to overrender every tiny detail to produce a strong illustration.

I also always have mixed feelings about a lot of this kind of work because, I know they're cheesecake, but in a lot of them the women look really powerful and self sufficient in these really dangerous environments... I'm very into that aesthetic.......
