Bonus - We Drown

Sorry doodles have been so delayed this week; they should be on track for tomorrow!

I also wanted to share this artwork I made as a gift for someone this christmas~ I picked the end of The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock and then I also made a Leyendecker study of it because I want to draw beautiful men like Leyendecker orz Which is against the point of the poem a little because it's about a shy old man but it's my favorite because I also read it as just... a person lacking the nerves to take a leap for fear of what might follow it. I think about it a lot.

This is absolutely stunning???

I adore this. "The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock" is one of my favourite poems of all time, and I agree with you that it holds just as much meaning for a younger person as an older one. I also think that the simple, subdued, almost reserved beauty of the portrait works fantastically well with the tone of the verse.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE POEM OF ALL TIME! THANK YOU!

This is just beautiful -- from the inspiration to the linework to the coloring to the detail of the mermaids in the frame. Would love to see everyone depicted thus --- Will Graham & Hannibal, Sherlock & John, Esh & Jonah, Kirk & Spock (original & reboot), the Sweet Bear gang, the monster boys, EVERYONE. :D

Leyendecker's style is great! I love your style, but it's tons of fun to see you work in his style, too. Definitely there are a lot of similarities already. I could see Leyendecker style Hannibal in some sock suspenders! ;)

Gorgeous!! I love the composition, the colors and all of ti

aw this is lovely-- also i LOVE leyendecker so i love this too

Ah, I learned something today thanks to you. The poem is lovely and certainly gets you thinking about regret. And your picture brings to mind characters from Dorothy Sayers or Patricia Wentworth. I'd love to see more of this style from you.

Gorgeous!

Oh so pretty. And don't rush, I think this week has been a clusterfuck for just about everyone

If you’re ever in NYC, go to the Society of Illustrators. They have a bunch of his sketches and process work and it’s amazing
