Full Tutorial for More Advanced SUPIR Online from Original Authors by SupPixel AI

I have been recently contacted by the original SUPIR developers that they published SUPIR online with better features and they are generated funds from this service to develop SUPIR v2 and SUPIR video.

As you know, SUPIR is the best image upscaler available right now both commercially and open source. It is next level compared to all other upscalers. So I decided to prepare this tutorial video and post to help SUPIR developers.

How to Register and Use SUPIR Online

• The website address of the SUPIR online is https://supir.suppixel.ai/home

• After registering and putting some credits you start using SUPIR online in at this URL : https://supir.suppixel.ai/workbench

• All your generations will be saved and accessible at this url : https://supir.suppixel.ai/history

• I have done very extensive testing with lots of credits and going to share all with you.

Original Test Images

• So the interface of SUPIR online on SupPixel AI is so clean and easy to use. But the settings matter. When you hover your mouse to question mark icons it will show you what each setting does.

• But don't worry, for a anime / cgi like image and a real image I have tested all configurations.

• The extra options like Texture Richness and Creativity significantly helps in non-real creature like images. For real images, it adds hallucinations. But these new features that we don't have in open source SUPIR model are amazing for such style images. Still they could be obtained with Stable Diffusion but nice addition to SUPIR online.

• So currently, SUPIR online is the very best image upscaler service that you can find available.

• I also have uploaded comparison images to imgsli for you to quickly compare them. imgsli lacks some of the images shared in above full version zip files.

Removing Backgrounds

• Currently SUPIR doesn't support transparent backgrounds so you need to add a background to upscale like white or black or any. But It is not an issue with our newest SOTA background remover BiRefNet : https://www.patreon.com/posts/birefnet-state-109918104

• For creature, I first upscaled 3x and then used that 3x upscaled image as base since it was originally very small resolution.

• Pay attention to the image names to see which settings were exactly used.

• The speed of the service is decent and SUPIR team told me they will keep upgrading it and adding new features.

Used Prompts

• Prompts matter when using SUPIR since it is a diffusion based AI upscaler.

• For generating prompts I have used Claude-3.5-Sonnet. You can use it for free on Poe : https://poe.com/Claude-3.5-Sonnet

• Upload the image and ask the AI like : caption this image in details for a text to image model
