So I’m rereading this for the idontknowwhatth time and your map image reminds me of the one thing that used to drive me nuts about Hannibal as a resident of Northern VA. So leaving aside that Wolf Trap is basically an outdoor performance space/Park, Will Graham is essentially able to commute from Fairfax County down to Quantico, itself at least an hour, baring the usual chaos that is 95 during commuting hours. Then, somehow, after work he’s able to get from Quantico to Baltimore by 7pm. I’m starting a full hour closer than he does and I still can’t guarantee that I can make it to Baltimore by 7pm on a weeknight! All that is leaving aside that he would need to be way further west to get the kind of snowfall.
