When I was first drafting this, I tried to write a version of it where they still went over the cliff, but it added so much extra stuff to get through, just mechanically, before they could bone down; it just felt like it was stretching out this particular story with stuff that wasn't really important to it, so I ended up dropping it altogether. I kind of like the idea that the whole cliff fall might have been metaphorical anyway :33

If he was hopelessly smitten before, he's going to be straight up insufferable from now on. His only regret in dying in such a manner would be not living to make daily murder tableaus in honor of it.
