Agree on Will's look is pretty jarring, but to me he's recognizable because of how you portray his eyes. Very striking is a specific way that you captured... Hannibal here reminds me of the muscle to Will's brains, kinda fascinating.

The new look of Will is very different, idk I´m just used to seeing him with at least a beard. The new design is cool tho, I like that it is so out there. It kinda reminds me of Hugh Dancys character from this show called the Path

I am absolutely fine with constructive criticism pretty much always :) My views on crit are that I don't let myself feel pressure to act on them directly, unless it's a big obvious easily fixable mistake, but it's always useful to keep critiques of older works in mind while making new works. All of my work is a learning experience, so I'd like to think each drawing is slightly better than the last (ideally haha), and so hearing honest feedback like yours helps me better understand my weaknesses moving forward, since it's pretty much impossible for me to view my own work objectively. What I learned after drawing this segment is exactly what you said, that I should probably stick to drawing Will with his more discernible features until a future where I get better at likenesses, but I also don't regret trying it hehe~ Thank you for the honest feedback and I'm glad you're still enjoying it!

I just realized that while you expressed nervousness you never explicitly okayed constructive criticism. If my above post is out of line please delete it. I personally like (polite) criticism to help me refine my work (which is how I meant the above to come across) but everyone's creative process is different and as an artist you are not obligated to entertain our entirely subjective opinions. If you only want positive feedback I 100% understand and will enjoy your work and support you no matter what. :)

I personally like depictions of post-fall clean shaven Will (let's show off that scar!) and realistically two men on the run would want to alter their appearance so it fits with the story. Honest feedback though: Your minimal lineart comic style is imo one of your strongest features but in this case I think it is making the Will makeover work against you. The lack of distinguishing features + no shading + no color makes it kind hard for me to distinguish Will from random average white dude. You are a fantastic artist but Mr. Dancy's face has such perfect symmetry IRL it's not giving you a lot to work with. The things that easily visually distinguish !Will from generic attractive white dude are his hair (those curls!!!!), the scruff, and to a lesser extent the glasses and the Bass Pro meets professor clothes. I think it would have worked better if there was a least one of the above familiar elements left, or you could probably pull off the whole thing in color or with a comic with more shading. Thats just me though and art is ultimately subjective and you can't please everyone! And I do love that you are mixing things up and taking risks and I can totally see how the minimalism of his new look visually reiterate the sleek ruthlessness he is embracing in this story so other people might love it. And while I personally find it a little too jarring, the rest of the story and all your lineart is still SOO FRICKEN GOOD I am still helplessly enjoying myself. So yes, I would prefer Will to be slightly more recognizable. But even with the new look I still rate the story 897351662 out of 10 and can't wait for the next update. :)

You should know I have a developed a Pavlovian response to these Sat Wayfindings updates. My friends have been wondering all day why I keep getting excited when my phone alert goes off only to be disappointed and mutter "oh, it's just another text/fb alert/email, damn". :p

I love it. He looks drastically different, sure! (Mostly because his curly locks are gone) but I like it! Though I'll always love a scruffy, unkempt Will...this new look is sharper and I like that he looks a bit older too.
