How do you listen to hypnosis files?
Added 2025-01-20 09:00:09 +0000 UTCI spend a lot of time worrying about and faffing with audio quality. I have a nice posh mic, spend time removing noise, breaths, de-essing, removing "plosives", layering the audio so everything sounds balanced and levelled. Then I test the audio on two sets of cans, Sony M1s and Bose QuietComforts (Both of those sounds so different BTW).
It's a little bit of an obsession.
Made me think, what kind of headphones do you all listen on, not just my files, but general hypno files or even music. Feel free to leave us a comment and let me know the exact model if you like, and if you would recommend.

Good choice. Had a few Senn pairs over the years. Great cans.

2025-01-25 02:38:31 +0000 UTCAppreciate the reply. Yeah I can see the benefits. Friends in *the sport that I do* (not doxing myself) use them a lot when training and always say how good they are. I want deep bass for workouts though to I have a set of sweatproof Jabra ones that work well. Sounds like you have as many headphones as I do! I thought I had a problem!

2025-01-20 19:36:09 +0000 UTCYou lose some of the low end, but I'd say it's reasonably comparable with a mid range pair of ear buds. My go to previously were a pair of in ear studio monitors from Shure. They had excellent sound quality for the price, but mostly I got them cause the cord was replaceable (I'd lost too many decent earbud sets to breaks in the cord, and got fed up with that). They definitely had noticeably better bass response. I wouldn't trade back to them though, simply for the fact that I can use these all day and barely notice I'm wearing them, where as in ear buds I can really only do for a hour or 2 at a time before I need a break. Honestly the biggest thing is there's nothing in or over your ear, so if you like the isolation from outside sounds (or active noise cancellation) that comes with earbuds or over ear headphones, these don't have that. So if you're using them alongside a noisy chore like vacuuming or mowing the lawn you need ear plugs or something. But noisy stuff like that, or something like air travel, I usually just use some google pixel buds instead, and take breaks as needed. As for over ear, I have one set I use and like for PC gaming, the HyperX Cloud. The biggest issue I have with them for listening to files is they're bulky over the ear, so they're not comfy if I'm laying down, cause I typically rest on my side. Also, they're corded, and the phone I have is bluetooth only. That being said, I think I went through like 7 or 8 options before settling on them, cause everything else gave me a headache from the weight pressing on the top of my head.

2025-01-20 19:20:01 +0000 UTCSounds like you just haven't found the right over ear ones. How much would you say the conduction headphones affect the sound? NGL - this scares me, because i put days into the audio! lol!

2025-01-20 19:02:19 +0000 UTCShokz Openrun2 bone conduction headphones. Ear buds irritate my ears and over the ear often give me a head ache. They aren't perfect for sound reproduction, but I can use them all day without an issue.

2025-01-20 18:35:40 +0000 UTCprem bt but only coz most manufacturers removed the audio port. I currently have (airpods pro 2 -$250) and recently got (Anker Liberty 4 NC -$100). Anker is miles ahead and charge lasts ten hours so I don't use anything else now, although sadly their next model came out literally the next day I got mine lol. When devices had ports I used (schure se215 pro -$100)

2025-01-20 11:07:59 +0000 UTCI have my Apple AirPods which I like for the noise cancellation but they can get uncomfortable after a while, so then I switch to my Koss over the ear headphones.

2025-01-20 09:44:23 +0000 UTCThere are some really cheap sleep headphones from Amazon that work pretty well - the sound is ...okay. I just throw (gently place) my headphones on the floor most nights when i wake up with them still on at about 3am π€£
