Rip Luka and Dr Martin, He bodied his role. The way they did Matt's reaction was sooo realistic, I'm so glad they went down that route rather than stupidly finding it cool or some shit like Jeremy lowkey did (i know he actually had the whole vickie motivation but still)

She’s savvy, funny, her instincts are 99% on point. She’s mysterious and a fast learner- there’s never a dull moment when Katherine is in town.

Elijah, who is an Original, knows more about Klaus than anyone, and has the power, knowledge and resources that most dont. Or Stefan and Damon, two baby vampires that literally know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Klaus or how to even begin dealing with him. Trying to bring back Elijah was the right play. Luka was just dumb for trying to pull it out while Katherine was standing right there.

There's a reason for everything she does, even if no one agrees. Definitely one of the most selfless characters , despite what other people say. She really is ❤️ She would sacrifice herself before anyone she cares about gets hurt! I love Elena!

No longer crashing out after being manipulated. Comparing his reaction to Katherine choosing Stephan in this episode and when she chose Stephan in the 1st episode when he killed Elena's brother says so much.

I totally forgot about Bonnie and Jeremy, but rewatching now made me realize how adorable they actually are. And Matt… his reaction felt incredibly real. TVD sometimes misses that emotional punch especially when characters discover something huge. But he delivered it here. Even though Caroline didn’t deserve that pain, his emotions were on point
