Vampire Diaries 2x12 Full Reaction

Damon chose not to finish the transition and just die. You have to feed on human blood when you wake up. Stefan didn’t want to be alone and forced it on him and I love both brothers but you will see both brothers are capable of good and bad.

Heatherlicious 82

Wellz hating on Stefan constantly is crazy for it to be his 2nd fav character like he claim lol I always find it so funny especially when he just let everything Damon do slide like it’s nothing 🤣 also no Damon woulda died because not completing the transition to vampire you die.

So the thing y'all have to HAVE TO keep in mind is the differences in character between Stefan and Damon. Tay stated she feels like Stefan can come off very human like and thus Damon needs to do the same. BUT remember the show has displayed to us each of their personalities and their vulnerabilities Stefan: A DEEPLY caring, selfless, and empathetic person as a human and upon becoming a Vampire them attributes heightened ALOT!! His weakness or vulnerability is his highly addictive nature, when tapped into that part of his nature..... that man..... (i won't say anymore) Damon: A person who is caring as well (not to stefan's natural extent) but still caring and but conceals it mostly due to many years of being a Vampire. His vulnerabilities are that he is Rash, Impulsive, Insecure and He also has a selfish nature about him as well where his utmost priority is his happiness which he fights all throughout the show. Over the years of being a vampire "turning off his switch" normalizing death and carnage and justifying under the guise of self-survival he has become numb to all of it. BUT NOW, with Elena, Stefan and people like Alaric, Caroline and Sheriff Forbes in his life (a "community" in Rose's words) constantly either reminding him of his HUMANITY or what its like to have people to CARE about etc. this is why Damon is now having this internal strife and struggle with himself. This way of life he's lived of selfish survival which he has justified to himself as normal and necessary is now eating away at him cuz his HUMANITY, the most precious thing to him as he revealed is finally surfacing and he cant take it and thus is why we see that scene of him killing that woman at the end VERY CONSISTENT WITH HIS CHARACTERS way of coping with overwhelming emotions. Amazing writing for his character so far

john segun doe

nah fr tho lmao

john segun doe

That ending scene with Damon and Rose is one of the best Damon scenes in the show. The way it allows us to see the HUMAN part of Damon which he is soo afraid to tap into, The side that Stefan, contrary to everything Damon does still believes is in there and worth fighting for, seeing that side of him in that well acted scene was AMAZING!!! ICL Wellz lowkey ruined that moment tho, Like bro why you gotta bring up Stefan lol Yo all stefan does and has done so far is sacrifice for others and be maaad empathetic so ur statements there were just factually incorrect. bruh just enjoy each one in their element fam, no need to tear one down to uphold the other especially in Amazing scene and moments like these. It takes from the scene. Also that scene at the end where Damon confesses he misses being human, WOW!! Ian Somerholder (Damon actor) BODIED!!!!! that scene P.s don't get me wrong I love the whole Tyler and caroline build up but Yah my boy Matt stay gettin hoed smh

john segun doe

Wellz funny, that’s real why they always gotta take a brother out🤣

Sak Chaser

Fr, it’s rare to see damon show his vulnerable side but when he does, it breaks me. He always puts on a mask like everything is fine but he’s hurting deeply inside especially from the pain of rose’s death. Such a complex character.

Amber Augustine

I really can’t wait for yall to start the originals 🙏🏻

Well one of the things I absolutely find fascinating about this show is the complexity and psychology of the characters and as a psychologist I can admit, I’ve never seen a TV show that would pay this much attention to the psychological profile of the characters. I was so impressed by the writers of this show and their understanding of how human psyche works. I wanna tell you Joel, your analysis of Damon character in this episode was so spot on and in this 2 comments I try to dive deep in to his psychology so we can understand him better and you can read them if you want. Damon wants to wear the mask of the villain and of some one who doesn’t care because in reality he cares too much and his heart has been crushed over and over again as the result of his sweet and caring nature so the mask is his defence mechanism to guard his heart and protect it from any further hurt. Damon didn’t know a moment of compassion and kindness in his entire existence until Elena. Elena was the only person who has ever shown him compassion and validated his pain. She is able to understand Damon in ways no one can. When everyone else sees anger, she sees hurt and pain and that’s one of the many reasons Damon fell in love with her. She was able to see right through the mask he was wearing in this episode and no matter how much Damon was trying to deny the pain and push her away not to give him any comfort, Elena knew she should give him the hug he so desperately wanted and was secretly longing for it so she gave it to him. But there’s so much a human can do, as much as Elena wants to sympathise with him and console him, she actually can not understand what exactly he’s going through because she’s not a vampire and she doesn’t understand heightened emotions and that’s why Rose was so helpful and played an important part in his growth. Damon could feel related to Rose on many levels, just like how Rose spend 500 years running from Klaus and wasted all those years on him, Damon also spent 145 years loving Katherine who didn’t even love him back, he was loving a lie and living a lie and wasted all those years on a lie. Also Rose’s advise about humanity switch is very important when she told him that there’s no humanity switch and after couple hundred years you just only have to pretend, she was trying to tell Damon that you cannot run away from your humanity because no matter what, it will catch up to you eventually, Because your humanity is what you are at your core and you can’t run away from you. Rose was showing Damon his future because she was a 500 years old vampire who has 300 years over him and she was openly admitting that she misses being human just like him, showing Damon there’s no escape from his humanity might as well just embrace his emotions right now than to spend another 300 years just existing because he’s afraid of facing his pains. Damon was denying his humanity as much as possible because his humanity brought him nothing but pain and misery and every time he let himself care, something terrible happened and all that remained after that was pain and suffering. That’s why Rose’s death hit him at his core because it happened again, he let himself care about Rose and then death took her from him and he even blamed himself for her death.

“I’m not human and I miss it, I miss it more than anything in the world, that’s my secret but there’s so much hurt a man can take” Damon is going through an existential crisis in this last scene because he’s facing a huge dilemma. One part of him wants to care and let all his emotions in because he faced his future in this episode and he knows that his humanity is his biggest weakness and Strength, he’s driven by love and without love he suffocates but there’s another part of him that knows that letting his humanity in means inviting all the emotions back including all the pain and suffering that’s he’s been suppressing for as long as he remembers and that’s terrifying and absolutely painful. Damon was trying to go back to his old habits of dealing with the unbearable pain that he was feeling by finding comfort in the darkness. We should know vampires have the urge to feed and kill and killing would actually give them the rush of pleasure and Damon was trying to use this as a painkiller so he could numb the pain and find the temporary remedy for his emotional wounds. Damon was trying so hard to convince everyone and even himself that he still doesn’t feel so he was trying to go back to his basic vampire instincts to drive this point home for himself, but no matter how much he tries, he can’t help but yearning for love and connections and that’s why his way of unhealthy coping mechanism didn’t work this time. We have to pay attention to Damon’s facial expressions after he killed that girl, this is not the face of a vampire who just enjoyed killing someone, there’s regret and remorse all over his face. Damon’s humanity is coming back and it’s destroying the shell he created around his heart with force and no mercy, Letting him feel everything. Sometimes we have to take a few steps back and go back to our old habits to realise we have changed, In a twisted way Damon had to kill that girl to realise he’s no longer the same person and his humanity is back. His emotions were way more powerful than his vampiric instincts that overrode any pleasure he could feel in that moment and made him feel bad and regretful instead for what he’s done, showing him that coming back to Mystic Falls and failing in love with Elena and every thing that happened ever since has forever changed him whether he wants to accept it or keep denying it, this is the truth he can’t run away from now.

Mnewmoon

seeing damon hold back tears is actually so sad. I'm sucker for characters like him when they break.

Freya

I KNEW IT!

Joel Minaya

The girl who plays Jules, Mason’s werewolf friend, is in fact in One Tree Hill - she was Lucas’ book editor and fiancée Lindsay who leaves him at the altar when she realizes he’s still in love with Peyton loooool

victoria t

She's correct. Damon and Stefan would have died if they didn't drink blood and complete the transition. They were killed by their father and "came back" to life because of the vampire blood in their system but without human blood, they would be dead. The Jeremy situation is different because he never died; he didn't take enough pills to kill himself.

Vanessa Navarro

This episode is so sad! Rose is such an underrated character who didn't deserve to go. I love the nuances and subtext between her and Damon, she believed he could be loved and treated him like a human long before he believed he deserved it. She was the first person to see past his shell without demanding anything from him. Rose didn't judge him, or push him to be something he wasn't. She gave him honesty, compassion and a genuine connection that wasn't tied to manipulation or a love triangle of sorts. She was the first person Damon let himself care about in a vulnerable way, the way he handled her dying showcases a growth nobody else had pulled out of him yet. She confided with Damon because she understood him emotionally and he understood her. She sat with him and his loneliness because she understood it. He gave her peace at the end because he couldn't give her a peaceful life, and that scene showed the most humanity in him than most characters got to witness. Love the complexities in the writing here. Damon relapsing into the worst version of himself because he believes that’s all he is. Just like an alcoholic who drinks after trying to be sober… Just like a self-harmer relapsing after trauma… Damon returns to the one thing he thinks proves who he really is. Julie Plec has even said in interviews: Damon’s killings in early seasons are expressions of his self-loathing, not sadism. He doesn’t kill the girl because Rose died. He kills her because he wants to feel nothing. He wants to shut off pain, and violence is how he copes. This is psychologically coherent and intentional writing. An emotional relapse after trauma + self-hatred + no coping mechanisms.

Ichigoat

Elena be Rizzing up Damon an everyone only blames Damon lol .

Tjbosslyfe

Klaus chasing them 500 years an not catching him not the point . 500 years and he never stops looking for you and you can never have peace . Is the threat Klaus imposes .Plus Klaus takes out your whole family . You have to live with that guilt an still try an stay alive .

Tjbosslyfe

This is definitely Damon good guy turn episode. The ending with the lady is a minor slip up . We know how Damon really feels . He just acts out sometime . Rip Rose and that lady .

Tjbosslyfe

If you don't become a Damon fan after this episode. That emotion an heart he demonstrats towards Rose . You probably really team Stephen an I respect it 😂 lol

Tjbosslyfe

Damon wants to keep the town safe from Werewolves. Hopefully the Rose situation will help see why Damon drastic measures are necessary to get rid of these situations. Now we have a pack headed this way . Damon on the good guys team hopefully we stand a chance.

Tjbosslyfe

The Rose and Damon scene is one of my favs of the show. You get to see a side of Damon you normally don’t see, such an emotional one 💯

Nick

2 eps, thank you guys 🔥🔥

Nick

Guys*

anna Perez

omg u giys are feeding us thank you.

anna Perez

If you are transitioning and don’t drink human blood you will die. Damon wanted to die but Stefan forced him to turn

Ahan Shankwalkar

No he misses being human

Ahan Shankwalkar

Correction Damon’s rant to the girl on what he misses the most in the world isn’t being human he misses killing people and the pleasure it brings.

willy

if you don't complete the transition by drinking blood you will die, Jeremy didn't take enough pills to die, the blood he had from Anna in his system actually healed him, preventing him from overdosing in the first place

sousou67

I agree, I also prefer the vampire diaries more than the originals. I cant reveal because of spoilers lmao.

Amber Augustine

I can already tell you're on Team Stefan 😂😂

Damon giving Rose the dream is such a beautiful scene to watch giving her peace in her final painful moments, taking her pain away this is so so beautiful and an amazing thing which Damon does, always makes me so emotional and specially seeing Damon cry makes me even more emotional. We also see here Damon admit he misses being human the most, its so heartbreaking to see him struggle so much. Yes ofc killing that girl wasnt right he is impulsive and very emotional which he also was as a human and as a vampire these emotions are at a much heightened rate. I am a Damon girl and mainly a Defan girl- Love the brother dynamics the most from the show- it beats even the love stories for me- It has all my heart but yeah you both make such valid points FR one of the best TVD reactors i have seen in a while so dont care if some Ppl here say horrible things be it if they are Damon or Stefan stans- you 2 are doing an amazing job and i also love how consistent you'll are and i have been seeing reactions to TVD since 2020 now - you both are one of the best... Much love ❤️

Andrea Dcosta

If ya’ll react to the walking dead im here for the run for sure … actually ended up here from the RTTV reacts with a boys

Dwayne Townsend

Aye Matt….. Tyler got yo biihhh 😂😂

Dwayne Townsend

would be down for walking dead reactions

D.j. Lachmandas

Unpopular opinion … I like the vampire diaries more than the originals.. the main reason is the vampire diaries introduced us to the lore and kinda provides more new and unique enemies versus the Originals where we kinda know a lot of the lore and it’s just story .. but I love them both

Dwayne Townsend

LOL righttttt like be so fr man 😂😂

Jasmine Reigns

yall reading my youtube comment about subscribing to the patreon LMAOO I’M HERE I DID IT!!!

Gianna

Facts, Stefan turned bro into a vampire you cant act like hes innocent 😂😂😂😂😂

Patreonsubscriber52

Damon's a bitch boy

Rosemary

Facts 💯

Chase

ian’s acting in this episode is incredible. He portrays damon so well. I get chills every time he confesses that he misses being human. You feel his pain and how much he struggles with being a vampire.

Amber Augustine

I love the complexity of Damon’s character this episode. Also the conflicting emotions when he kills the girl. It perfectly shows how deep vampire emotional mood swings go from one extreme to the next. A vampire’s basic instinct is to kill and it’s hard to fight that especially when they feel depressed, hurt, or angry. They feel it 10x worse than humans.

Amber Augustine

Damon giving Rose that dream before she died was one of the most beautiful scenes I ever seen in tvd. Even though she was here for a short time, her impact in the show is so memorable.

Amber Augustine

Bro literally watched Damon kill an innocent person for no reason & still finds a way to justify it 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ i can’t

Domo

“Be nice bro.” Joe you gotta know Damon is lying about his feelings when he said that about rose to elena in that scene. He clearly cares about her but he didn’t want to admit it. He always puts on a front to show he doesn’t care when he actually does. 😭

Amber Augustine

I'mma start this statement off with on team Stefan but I do feel bad for Damon but on the other hand he has to find different ways to help him feel better other than killing people that's my only narc on Damon fans they give him a pass because he's hurting he acts out but there's multiple different ways you can make yourself feel better without killing people great reaction

MJ B

Caroline is one of the best characters this season and she has been a vampire for what couple of months but she has mastered control all while helping out Tyler who wasn’t even a close friend to her. She fooled character and did what needed to be done with her mother and that whole situation. Also she knows being with Matt would put him in harms way and unlike Stefan she doesn’t let her emotions control her. A+ for S2 Caroline

Funkystar

I got wiplash when my comment came up😅😭😭 still if Damon did it like i said rose wouldn’t be dead Jules wouldn’t be here and no werewolf drama🤷🏾‍♂️ also Tyler wouldn’t be in this mess going through all this ordeal it all started when mason died💀

Funkystar

Jeremy never died when he drank Anna’s blood it healed him up before the pills could actually kill him lol so he wasn’t in transition… Damon on the other hand did die from the gunshot wound with vampire blood in his system so he was in transition and would’ve died if he didn’t feed on a human

Static

I can’t wait for the originals reactions😭🔥

Tay

Joel you right about Damon wanting to be human, but he can’t keep reverting back to his old ways like this, but damn him venting tho, that was sad 😔

Chase

2 eps?! 🥹

KP

Nearly teared up when i saw it was a double thank you 🙏🏼 😭

Static

We got 2 episodes today!!. Hell yeah
