2025-11-12 10:37:18 +0000 UTCOne of the episodes in late season 4 is technically a backdoor pilot for The Originals and then season 5 aired alongside season 1 of The Originals and so on. Would highly highly recommend watching in timeline order because there are crossovers of characters and storyline details which could get confusing if you don’t because it is still the same universe and the plot in one show can affect the plot in the other.

Mason was there cuz he was foolishly in love/lust with Katherine and thus was innocently doing her bidding not knowing her larger machinations at play. Its clear that was his only mission. He only outed them after Stefan made him realize with that “There’s one of you and two of us” speech as Stefan reiterated Mason wasn’t as strong as them without a full moon, which comes off super threatening (Even Wellz caught that lol). Mason then realized he was in big trouble and thus had to out them to the council. We know this wasn’t a part of Katherine’s plan either because even she was surprised and reprimanded Mason verbally for doing so. While you can say that this all coincidentally worked out because we now know or will know more to Katherines hand behind is, Damon was never in the right for stabbing him. Because remember, he only did that because he thought Mason was an immediate threat to him and his life nothing more. He just had learned about how fatal a wolf’s bite was to him and impulsive survivalist as he is he just went straight for the kill. Damon didn’t think it was deeper than that. Summary: 1.) Mason was just there to get the moonstone for Katherine because he loves her or whatever and he didn’t want any issues with Damon or Stefan. 2.) Then paranoid Damon had to go and cause an issue by stabbing Mason, thus making an enemy out of Mason, 3.) then when Stefan tried to do that Peace Treaty thing, he came off more threatening than peaceful, thus scaring the shit out of Mason and making him realize that he might be in mortal danger and then squealed outing the Salvatores to Liz *Note: Keep in mind Mason stated multiple times over the last two episodes once to Damon and another time specifically to Tyler that he has no control in wolf form and loses control once he turns, therefore he wasn’t targeting Stefan when he attacked him, nor was he targeting Caroline when he attacked her, so he told Damon the truth. hey it all worked out, YES, but let’s be honest about the facts of what went down & how it went down lol

2025-11-10 04:10:04 +0000 UTCOne thing I want to tell you is that never underestimate Damon’s intuition. You will understand this more as you go on with the show. In the last episode everyone blamed Damon that he shouldn’t turn down Mason’s offer about peace. Now as the viewers we see in this episode that Mason was way shadier than we can imagine, he was working with Katherine this entire time and that’s why Damon didn’t buy what Mason said at Jenna’s barbecue when he said that “I’m not your enemy” as I said, Damon is incredibly intuitive and he’s so quick to pick up on someone’s behaviour to see if they’re trustworthy so he knew something was up with him and he couldn’t be trusted but the way he went about it, attacking him with a silver knife without fully researching about it first was impulsive and he needed to be more careful when he want to make a move against a creature that he knows nothing about, That was his mistake and he learned his lesson. Another thing I want to talk about is that I absolutely loved the way Damon stood up to Liz for Caroline in this episode. At first when Caroline turned in to a vampire, Damon thought she wouldn’t be able to make it as one but now that she’s proven herself to him and he can see that she’s handling it just fine, he started to develop the sense of admiration and respect for her, enough to defend her to her mom in this episode. Also given the fact he has experienced something similar with his dad made this scene even more impactful. What Damon’s father did was even worse, he tried to kill them even before they were vampires, he didn’t know that they had vampire blood in their system. He killed them as humans who were only vampire sympathisers and were helping them to escape. Giuseppe Salvatore was suffering from Narcissistic personality disorder and because of this, he only cared about his public image more than anything else in the world so the moment he saw his sons helping the vampires and how this could bring shame to him and his family, he decided to get rid of them immediately, so this way he could persevere his public persona among other founding families. He didn’t care about his sons, he only cared about his reputation.

Although I hated how Damon dealt with Mason the whole way through, causing trouble for his own self by making an enemy out of Mason and then Mason snitching to kill them ASAP because he knows he has a target on his back, ALL THAT SAID lol I did love the little hint at Damon's humanity peeking through in regards to Liz as he stuck up for Sherrif Forbes when her daughter Caroline was being "A Bitch" to her. i LOVE those little moments of SOMEWHAT character dev or character shift. Yh i love Elena this season she's so levelheaded and she's also very empathetic as well like stefan. Her letting him feed off of her was such a Ride or die move. S2 had really good writing for her Now Sherrif Forbes knows!!! What will she do with info. And the Caroline Character development is PEAK THIS WAS SOOOO JAM PACKED IN JUST ONE EP. and the surface is barely being scratched loool. Bruh i swear TVD is soooooooo slept on!! Bruh I cannot wait for the next ep. Some top notch Paul Wesley Acting SHEESH!!! We'll talk on Wednesday

In September 2023, my husband was so intrigued with my fascination of the show that he took me and my then 16 year old daughter to Covington, GA and we ate at MYSTIC GRILL, walked through the whole town and their houses, gift shops, and saw murals of DAMON and STEFAN. It was exhilarating experience. I got pictures. You all should go there. Especially, you two Tay's Cup O' Joe.

At the end of Season 1 they clarified it was Bonnie’s ancestor Emily who spelled all the devices to keep people safe from vampires. Since witches would be burned too, Emily allowed Johnathan Gilbert to believe he’d invented them.

She probably would've never looked his way had she known he was a vampire to start with, but she's one of the very few people who've always been nice to him, and trusted him...so that means a lot
