Uhtred from the show is like an amalgemation of many historial figures from that time, named after a real person who was a real person but yeah def not as important as uhtred in the show

2024-06-23 20:12:44 +0000 UTCI don't consider this a spoiler, i just want to pump your breaks on one little thing that i see is always on the back of your mind. Uhtred was never "meant" to be king (except for that fake prophecy). He was always meant to be Lord of Bebbanburg, which is a smaller area inside the then Kingdom of Northumbria. So if Uhtred fulfilled his perceived destiny, he would be a lord (as he is now, but of a different land) and he would answer to the king of Northumbria (as he now answers to the King of Wessex). The show is based on real time events and persons, so who will be the various kings and queens in the show, is already predetermined by History. Uhtred was not an actual historical figure (although the writer said that he based him on an old ancestor of his who was lord in those lands - but certainly was nowhere near as influential in the shaping of English history as Uhtred in the show is).
