They kinda leave out some details in this episode but Elmesia is Erald's niece! However she is much older than him and obviously has much more political and social power. She is the one who founded Thalion after all. The family trees of long-lived races can get pretty confusing haha! I won't go into detail here but Elmesia is the daughter of some super important people and even one who is important to the story currently! Can you guess who?

So if Rimuru is correct, Ramiris basically earns 35x that amount! Not to mention, Ramiris does not really need money lmao so this would all just be pocket money for her. And as you said, after the initial setup, this is just passive income for her. Pretty sweet deal considering it also means she is able to live in Tempest now! Saying Gazel and Elmesia could make short work of pre Demon Lord Rimuru I think is an oversimplification. I do think they could win, but it would not be easy for them at all. We have to keep in mind, Hinata was not able to kill Rimuru even when he was trapped in her Holy Field and only had a fraction of his power. Hinata is definitely relative to these two, especially considering how specialized her move set is against monsters.

If someone told me they would pay me 600$ a day I would do most jobs and in Ramiri's case it's a low stress job most of the time. It's basically game development and maintenance where her skills/abilities take over all the complicated and stressful parts, making it borderline passive income if she only does the minimum she is being payed for. Also for some context both Elmesia and Gazel are very powerful people both politically and in personal power, powerful enough to contest with Demon Lords just on the other end of the spectrum as "Heroes". Elmensia is a 2000+ years old High elf, basically a wind elemental incarnated in human form and ancestors of the elves, who unified 13 Royal elven households to build the current empire she is ruling over now and Gazel is considered a Hero King for a reason. Before Rimuru awakened as Demon Lord both of them could have made short work of him if he ever became an enemy to their Nations. So while we know and are used to the fact that Rimuru is likely stronger to people outside of tempest the idea that another ruler potentially more powerful than them, both politically and in personal power, suddenly appeared out of nowhere is quite a shock.
