After all that Jacquen is gonna stand there and have the audacity to say “finally a girl is no one” ?? 🧐 WHAT?? Not only did she walk into the assassins headquarters, BUT HE LETS HER LEAVE!?!!! She completely goes against the idea of what a faceless man is. 😂😂😂🤣

2024-01-03 18:24:09 +0000 UTCto add to everyone else point on her story, her story literally began playing "someone" else, right after her dad died she posed as a boy and was fooling most, and fooled tywin on not finding out her identity. he was only smart enough to know she wasnt a boy and she could read. i remember the face less man saying a girl isn't ready to become "someone else" during her training which is ironic but maybe that was the point. but aryas whole story before this one was about deception and lying and staying alive, this one was just the same but amplified for her tryna become "no one" at this point in her life. and then we see how she's clearly not able to let go and then she finally gets to be herself since Ned died fr and I'm pretty sure he knew she was gonna do it too, but idk that

2023-12-28 06:01:43 +0000 UTCThe thing I'm not sure many pick up on this episode about Jaime is that he did yet another heroic deed that saved thousands of lives but further destroyed his reputation in the process. When he killed The Mad King, he saved the entire city from burning, but made everyone in the realm hate him in the process. Now many years later he finds himself in a similar predicament. He took Riverrun without bloodshed, when in episode 6x7 the Blackfish said that the siege would take years and cost thousands of lives, but Jaime lifted it overnight with only one life being lost. But in order to achieve this, he had to lean into the Kingslayer persona. When he first got to the castle, he tried to peacefully negotiate as Ser Jaime Lannister. But because his reputation is so tainted because he killed the King he was sworn to protect, his word means nothing to the lords of the realm. We as the viewers know that Jaime will keep his word because we have seen him do it, but to Edmure and The Blackfish, he is one of the most dishonorable men alive and his word means less than shit. Once Jaime realized that he would get nowhere being himself, he decided to use the Kingslayer persona to lift the siege. His word and honor as a Knight failed him in negotiations, so he used fear in the negotiation to push Edmure to surrender the castle. In the end, thousands of men might be able to go home to their loved ones because Jaimie lifted the siege that the Freys failed to do. But all Edmure will remember is that The Kingslayer confessed to incest and threatened to murder a baby and kill every person alive in the castle. It doesn't matter if it was a bluff or not, the Kingslayer mask that Jaime is able to put on when he needs to is so convincing, that perception is reality.

The comment you read at the end of this reaction shows the storyline could be great on paper, but the execution was just not it. Jaqen and the Braavos characters/setting just aren’t very interesting imo. . and I agree Wellz, I always love to see Jaime bring the ruthlessness out cuz literally everyone has had him twisted since he lost an arm.
