Honestly when I first watched this episode, I was a little mad Zeref lost his calm exterior and his composure which gave him part of his charm - kind of how Mard Geer was super composed until transforming, when he lost his shit after Gray went Devil Force (I just made that up it's not an actual thing) and tanked Memento Mori. But now I actually really like it, because watching episode 289 (Mavis and Zeref), when we see Zeref's own thoughts becoming contradictory, like him going "I want to meet him... no, I want to destroy him... no, I want to be destroyed...", and the world's continual rejection of his existence... seeing all that, you really realize that it's not possible to stay sane with the Curse of Contradiction. Like, just think about it.. the more you care about the shit around you, the more they all die. It's the most complex psychological torture I can think of in all media off the top of my head, because like... he's gotta stop feeling for people to restrain from killing them, which in essence, makes him more evil and want to kill people, but then he can't, because he doesn't care for them... it's messed up, and he finally snaps in the end

2024-05-10 14:40:32 +0000 UTCSonia (from the Dragon Cry movie) actually passed through the gate too. It was quite quick, but if you try, you can see a sixth, golden ‘shooting star’ before it transitions to the King, Layla, and Anna.
