2024-02-17 05:25:58 +0000 UTCRemember way back when I said LaxusvJura was one of my least favorite fights in the show bcz it didn't feel earned by Laxus (too early in his development). It felt like Jura kind of threw and didn't even try. And for all the build-up with Jura, the fight lasted like 3 minutes. Well, I also said back then Laxus also has one of my other least favorite fights in the show. (don't get me wrong Laxus also has several of my favorite fights in the show, like Laxus v Raven Tail etc) But ye this is the one, I don't like this fight at all. I get that they want to show that Laxus is built different. He's so strong, fighting and winning while injured. But they already showed that he's built different being the only one to easily defeat one of the demons (Tempesta) only getting injured coz Tempesta self-destructed. There was no need to go so over the top to have him beat him while basically dying. It's just silly. And comes from the fandom loving and worshipping Laxus so much the anime crew gave him this extra basically fan-service fight. As in the Manga it's Gray easily beating him instead to show off his new powers. Which makes way more sense for the story than an injured Laxus..bleh. My favorite show, but have to be honest..
