There's a bunch of theories with Ultear, but I like the one that states that there's a certain time conversion for Last Ages. Some believe that since she turned back time by one minute, which is 60 seconds, that one second was worth a year. Ultear was around Gray's age at the beginning of the show, so like 18 I believe, and then there was obviously the 7 year timeskip so she would be around 25, and then after Last Ages, 25+60 would bring her to 85 years old. Idk, just seemed pretty reasonable to me. And yup, same VA!! I kinda knew it was Ultear when I first heard the lady talk lmao

2023-12-30 05:37:00 +0000 UTCsubtitles fucked up again when cobra was talking, he said cubelios, not cerberus. basically he could hear kinana. and also, the "demon generals" are oracion seis. back in the OS/nirvana arc, i recall they called themselves the 6 pillars/generals.

2023-12-30 05:34:45 +0000 UTCUltear was the very first characters we see in the manga, with Jellal (W for us Jellal enthusiasts). This episode was pretty heartbreaking. From a villain and antagonist to playing a prominent role in saving humanityt and being the catalyst for our conterattack

2023-12-28 05:22:15 +0000 UTCGray didn't see his death, he died. He felt it, and he remembers it. Ultear turned back time, and gave him a second chance, but he died, just like Bacchus, Jet and Droy, Gajeel, Laxus, Cobra, Elfman, and all the others who fell just before she used the spell. Seeing her when they headed home as an old woman cemented the fact in his mind that it wasn't a vision, or premonition. She had somehow used her magic to actually turn time back, and save him. While she didn't do it solely for him (as she didn't even know he died), she still sacrificed herself, just like Ur, and he felt guilty. Gray was one of the first to fall in that minute timespan, and was down longer than the others, and personally, I think that has something to do with why he may have stronger memories of his death than the others may. I thought the 'like a log' translation was particularly funny, because more than likely, Ultear was unconscious most of the night while she aged rapidly, so she probably was more like a log than human lol. PS...I loved seeing it click that the old woman was Ultear. You even said that it sounded like a younger VA trying to be an old woman pretty early on, I was laughing so hard.

2023-12-28 03:28:19 +0000 UTCSurprised you haven't heard the expression "Like a log" implying you had such a deep good sleep you weren't tossing and turning but laying still ;D you learn new phrases every day huh :D Common phrase here, but maybe how common it is depends on your region.
