There's personal situations and several key factors that can determine someone's actions which Mavis could have no way of knowing. Such as Sabertooth's shift in tone due to Lector being gone, Sting being their new master, the guild members seeing their guild master dying before them, etc etc. There's just too many personal factors which Mavis couldn't have known about
