2023-11-30 07:58:00 +0000 UTCThink of Rufus' magic as similar to, say, Rustyrose from Grimoire Heart's magic, or maybe, Gemini's magic. It's super overpowered in concept but obviously is dependent on the user's skill level, so there'll be a cap to the effects of which it can be used. That aside I do love Gray's fights. He always has to actually be strategical and think in order to defeat his opponent. I do love Erza but her fights usually boil down to pure skill (with the exception of Midnight), and the same for Natsu. They both have high battle IQs, don't get me wrong, but they're rarely in situation where they're getting overwhelmed and have to change their strategy and approach entirely, like Gray. Gray usually has really rough match ups lmao, so he's usually forced to think out of the box, and that's what makes his fights so compelling for me. Like, sensory overload to defeat Rufus. Who woulda guessed lmao

It has the really dark humor you wish you could display on youtube ;) Personally watched it before watching the anime, don't regret that choice. From what i've seen on youtube the anime itself doesn't do well on youtube, so wouldn't surprise me if you never end up watching the original on youtube either way. :)

And just like he's previous work Rave Master, it isn't connected to the story of Fairy Tail, just like Fairy Tail wasn't connected to Rave Master, but it does reference Fairy Tail, just like Fairy Tail references Rave Master. I mean reference as in he has characters designs inspired by Fairy Tail characters, and some might just look the exact same but be a different character. Just like how Plue was initially from Rave Master. However, story, characters and world is completly seperate. It's a sci-fi story, and has more of an emphasis on exploration, won't say more to avoid potential spoilers. A lot of people love it and think it's better than FT and the best story he has made. Personally, I just don't enjoy it nearly as much. But that completly depends on taste, both shows are good. Mashima is very consistent for the most part. Two seasons are out, with more to come. Though I believe he plans on wrapping up in not too far of the future, as he doesn't want it to be as long as Fairy Tail. Sorry for long rant: TDLR: Edens zero is pretty good, worth watching.
