CAD- Casting Assistant Device Im not going to deep into how they work, just that CADs allow the processing of all the necessary components for magic in a single moment. In detail, these devices help accelerate the invocation of magic, as well as provide stability. CADs replace traditional tools such as spell chants, talismans, magic staves, tomes, hand seals, magic circles, and other traditional methods of invoking magic. It is a tool of necessity for any modern Magic Technician. There are CADs in different shapes or forms such as bracelet-shaped CADs, mobile terminal-shaped CADs, long and short Pistol-shaped CADs, rifle-shaped ones, and special weapons or ornaments that conceal a CAD like in the Form of Pendants or Erika's baton. Also, think of Psions like a Sort of Mana, though its a bit more complicated since the Author describes them in this Story as "non-physical particles that come under the dimension of psychic phenomenon, an information element that records the result of cognizance and thought." (i know, sounds pretty complicated but thats how Tsutomu Satō writes the entire Series in the LNs) ^^
